Featured Game Weekly #6

Every week i will post a 'Featured Game' in a new thread and sticky it. Could be one people have suggested to me doing over the course of the week, one of my most recently played games, an old favourite or a game i purchased and maybe didnt like. ​

I will post the details of the game and sometimes DLC and regardless of whether you have played it or not people can post what they liked in the game/ or liked the look of in the game and what they didnt like or thought could have been improved or what put them off the game if they didnt purchase it. Then over the course of the week people can voice their opinions (in an adult manner and respecting others opinions) might help some gamers try some games they thought they wouldnt enjoy or change some opinions.​

Following is a brief description of my thoughts... ​

Pokemon Black - 87/100​

Pokemon White - 87/100​

Only tried it briefly and not enough to give my own verdict on it, i quite enjoyed the old games and owned Pokemon Blue & Silver and played them a lot when i was younger. So im tempted to give the new one a go despite the blatant cash in that the series has now become. My pros and cons are going to be brief too by what ive seen so far...​

Pros​

​

• Visuals look decent on handheld
• Fresh feel to game with all the new Pokemon introduced in this
• Less backtracking in the game than before
• More XP defeating higher level enemies than before

Cons​

​

• Character walks REALLY slowly
• Same start to the game that it had 15 years ago
• Some of the Pokemon simply look silly in my opinion and not very inspired ideas

Now for this week people can voice their opinions on the game and those that have played it more than me can give me some more details and i will do another game next week... Pros and Cons you found or if you havent played it things that appealed to you or things that put you off it...​

Did not like the gameat all. Stopped playing before I even got to the first gym, it just took way to long to get there with the slow walking and very long dialogues.

Not just me that felt like the character walked like a snail then? I dont remember them walking that slow in past games.

I really don't know. Maybe you need to get some running shoes or something

Apparently you can but they did this in the past too and had the bike but didnt mean you had to walk like a snail for first hour or so until you got it though.

Why do they always have to change things that werent broken in the first place. I actually want to like it as they were decent games under the Pokemon 'hood'.

Ah, haven't gotten a chance to get on here in a while. Anyway, yes, you do get running shoes, and you get them pretty early in the game (route 2 I believe).

Overall, Black and White were amazing. They are definitely better than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Pearl/Diamond/Platinum. Although I liked everything from the third and fourth generations, I feel like the fifth brought the entire series back to the quality of the first two generations. The Unova region was very interesting no matter where you were, and a lot of the new Pokemon were original and cool. The new Pokemon did have one downfall though. Some of their names were fairly uninteresting and unoriginal.

It looks good and i will give it another go at some point and i cant compare it to any of those titles as i never played any of them either. I agree with the last point so far though. :lol:
