GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. --

Greenville County deputies said a Crescent High School football player assaulted the Liberty High School mascot on Tuesday.
According to Master Deputy Sam Cureton, officials from three schools saw 17-year-old Kenneth Mitchell tackle the student in the Liberty High School mascot costume at the gym at Carolina High School. Cureton said the students were there for a volleyball tournament.He said it happened while the mascot, 16-year-old Edwin Chapman, was making a lap around the court during a timeout."During that time Mr. Mitchell got up off the bleacher and tackled him and slammed him to the ground," Cureton said.Deputies have an active arrest warrant on Mitchell for third-degree assault and battery but had not arrested him as of Friday night. Cureton said he encourages Mitchell to turn himself in.Mitchell, who goes by "Bradley," was listed on the Crescent High School football roster Friday night. Anderson District 3 Superintendent Gail Southard said she was aware of an investigation into what happened Tuesday but that Mitchell could continue to play football until he was arrested.Cureton listed the Crescent High School Athletic Director as one of the witnesses to the incident.

I go to Crescent High School, and I have been in Bradley's class. And yes this is true, it really happened. He was paid like 130 dollars for, was in jail for like 9 hours (I think) and the man who paid him also paid his bail. He is a great football player for our school and was NOT able to play against the Liberty High School football team, and could not run cross country/track against them either.

you want real high school news? a halo loving kid held a student that i TA'd for and a girl i'd known since middle school at gunpoint.
he was finally sent to a mental institution after trying to commit suicide 3 years later...last year. i was at school after hours making up a test and just walked off campus about halfway through it...about one hallway away.

if it's any consolation, i don't care about school sports period. not even when i was participating in them. not even now, when my schools sporting events are televised and discussed on ESPN.

They are afterall Overpayed, over-rated, glory hogs who think they are God's gift to the world. They'll do anything if it gets them in the limelight. It's all the Overdone Fame and Praise You see, goes to their heads and gives them an unwarranted sense of self importance. Even though they haven't done anything to contribute to society on an important level. As far as I'm concerned, kicking a sack of air around and throwing Your shirt over your face evertime you kick it between a pair of posts shouldn't get You millions by the hour.

I was just messin' around, don't worry about it. :lol: While I care about cross country and track since I'm a participant, there are plenty of sports that I don't care about as well (mostly football).
