Forums hidden for non-members?

This isn't a complaint or anything, just a comment on something I hadn't noticed.

Y'see, I've always used my Sephiroxas-produced signature over on MEx and Halowarsx when I was there, and I recently added a link to Sephi's Services thread from masseffectx. And I was just over there and I clicked on it to make sure it was still working, after I put in my shiny new sig image (new avatar here).

And when I hit the link I got a message saying that I didn't have access to this page. Then I went to the main page of the forum while not logged in, and realized that Barrow Fields Art Gallery, and a few other things I'm unsure on, were all invisible.

How come? Just to encourage people to sign up, or what?

Re: Forums hidden for non-members?

More than likely.

But it also prevents guests from easily accessing & stealing people's artworks, which I've seen happen at other forums I've been apart of. Baaad stuff.

Re: Forums hidden for non-members?

The Art Gallery is likely hidden for the reason Scott stated. If guests can view it they can also come here and steal peoples work without anyone knowing. As far as i know thats the only section thats restricted, im always logged in so wouldnt have noticed any others but i knew about that one.

That makes a lot of sense.

Though I just looked, and Oakvale Town Square is hidden, too.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

Guess it would be kind of pointless for guests to be able to view peoples introduction threads and no useful information can be found in them to give them reason to read them.
