Further speculation on the spell "Raise Dead."

Further speculation on the spell "Raise Dead."

Among the new spells in fable 2 is the "Raise Dead" spell. It could just be the summon spell from F1 with a different name slapped on it, but it could also be reanimation, which would be awesome. Anyone know any details on it? Like how many undead you can control at a time, if you can reanimate anything or just some things, any info on that would be cool.

One more thing, Lionhead has said that every spell has a single target and AOE version of the same spell. For example, the spell that uses fire to attack would have a fireball hit one person, and the AOE version would be a wide circle of fire that hits all in the area. Would Raise Dead have a AOE function as well?

They really haven't gone into that much. We know we have the spell, but the levels of the spells, haven't been talked about much. Fireball, is the only one so far. Although I have seen divine fury, in a combo, along with slow, and directional ghost swords. That was so cool.:) Directional ghost sword, could be higher up.

well, in a vid i saw it PM mentioned new enemies (dont remember what they are calle) that rase the dead. you cant attack these spirits, they just float around then shoot into the ground and raise a zombie, then when you destroy it they fly away, or they reanimate another corpse. so this effect is in the game, dont know it its a spell though. they are keeping the spells very hush hush. cuz they are all friggin uber sweet! that would be an awsome spell, i would suspect that it is in the game.

Directional Ghost Swords is too similar to Vergil`s ranged attack in Devil May Cry 3.
Anyway, Raise Dead - I hope this spell can surprise us somehow, taken by it`s name, nothing special.

Never played Devil May Cry, so it'll be new to me. It looks amazing. Raise the dead, may end up, quite a handful. All the reviews I've seen are very positive.

I'm not a big fan of magic i'm more of a down-to-earth bash-em-up kind of guy but the magic in Fable 2 sounds cool so i might just have to try it!

P.S the enemies that TJ is talking about are the Hollow-men (i think) that raise dead bodies from the ground to attack you and depending on what body the hollow-men pull from the ground changes what attacks they have like if they pull out a villager they will attack physically but if they pull out a mage they will use magic.

all i know is that magic will most likely be awesome even with 8 variations

Pull up mages? Sounds like it's going to be a challenge.:)

What I`ve seen so far, magic in Fable 2 doesn`t seem very good compared to other new elements of the game - guns for example. I guess it`s something they want to keep in secret until it`s finally out.

What I've seen is that magic is much better, and more powerful. I guess it depends on which videos, you see.:)
The guns will be perfect for a mage along, with the crossbow. The guns aren't shown much, but I hope some are over sized, like a cartoon. Also, there should be augs, for them. I hope.:unsure:

We had to use silver arrows, to kill certain enemy's easier, which I did. I bet there's some. Health, and skill, would be nice.

I hope it`s possible to obtain them in early game too, not like in Fable 1. Exp aug was totally useless as you already had enough exp by the time you got it.

Would be cool to raise another dead hero, this summon would be extra-powerful.

Maybe you can Raise the games final boss and freeroam with it/her/him on your side...

how about making your just killed enemys rise again and then you have to kill them again (Double experience) that would be cool so when i actually find a creature worth fighting for experience i could killem over and over again

Or, after you`ve been killed raise yourself as an animated corpse - that means you must have strong magical properties that "live" on even after your body dies.
