Fused saves

I was playing a co-op session (Might I add hasnt gotten really buggy since last patch) so it loads in my first save when I go in there playing my 2nd save.. so I decide ok going to load my 2nd save I do so then all the sudden it says it has loaded but it didnt.. then my save file copied itself to my 2nd save, I lost all my legendaries, and gained all my 1st files abilities but I was in 2nd saves current part of the game it was like the two became one save, not one save nor the other. Which losing all my legendaries did **** me off greatly. Just curious if anyone else had this issue.

having just started my second save file and considering doing some trading locally, once I open all the weapon shops, I'm worried about this... How does the co-op choose which file to load? Do I have to choose? Is it the last one that was saved or auto-saved?
