Future Fable

Do you think a futuristic fable would be good state your opinion and why.

I personaly don't know I like plasma rays and lightning shooters just as much as the next guy but............... I think it would not be a great idea.

I dont think so it's a Rpg. RPG'S are usually "Fantasy Based" like sword and bow...


It would take all away from the game...

I find it hard to relate lasers to Falbe because I already know it as olde worlde type of stuff. I just can't see aliens appearing in Oakvale and nuking everyone with their death rays...

Ha. I agree or like War of The Worlds, were alien ships come out of the ground and start destroying everything..

actually there are a number of RPG's which take place in a more sci-fi oriented setting. My favourite series ever, while technically based in the distant past, was what would be considered a futuristic game, with guns, and spaceships, and aliens. RPG's are well suited to either spectrum of the timeline.
However, I don't think Fable would be... Fable is far better suited to the past... it seems to ring with humanity's innocence... the people are all slow and stupid, the beilef that you can be a hero if you try hard and act nice... while it seems quaint and noble, and fits with our rubbish filled notion of "the good old days", it would just seem utterly naive and contrived in a sci-fi setting...

Or a mix it could be a good idea like Final Fantasy thats like Future and Past mixed futuristic wouldnt neccesarily be bad just tough to make.

umm... NO
Fable is Fable, and KotOR is KotOR...
as much as I like Fable, I would not like to see my beloved KotOR universe adapted the same way...
the two franchises are very different in their appearance, methods, and application...
Bioware/Obsidian have very different ideas of what makes a good game from what Lionhead does.... that's a good thing, it allows for more variation in gaming...
as I said, I like Fable... but not EVERY game I play needs to be identical... I don't want EVERY game I play to turn into Fable...

Hmm I would like better if Fable was a little more RPGish, like say The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, now that is super rpg game... very fun starting to take my time away from fable...:'( ... I should buy Fable: The Lost Chapters to get back into the mood...:frenchy:

Look. fable is FABLE. Morrowind is MORROWIND. I DO NOT Want fable to be ANYTHING like morrowind. I want FABLE 2 to be FABLE 2

I have an idea!!! a pre-historic fable. It'd be grand just riding around on dinosaurs, and then Jack of Blades could just be a monkey with a mask.

No but seriously though, I don't think that a futuristic fable would really hold up well. The things I like most about fable is the time that it's placed in and also I like seeing my charracter run around swinging a sword rather than a lightsaber.

... well, Fable 2 is already going to be in a different time period than the first one...
... and this is Fable, not Star Wars... you would NEVER see your character weilding a Lightsabre...

Yeah I know, but fable 2 it is still set at a time when they were still using swords. I just don't like the idea of a futuristic fable because I think it'd lose the feel that fable has now.

Also to add Fable shouldn't be KOTOR either, they are all their own individual games and all have great aspects of their own. They should not and will not merge or have another company take the reigns.
