The game will be a collaboration between Bigpoint (Battlestar Galactica Online) and Norwegian development studio Artplant (create 3D browser titles and be based on the HBO TV series (adapted from George R.R. Martin's book series). Titled Seven Kingdoms the developers have promised to give players a chance to experience epic moments from the TV series as they engage in player versus player action, siege combat and politics in a bid to take control of Westeros. So far they have only released a handful of screens and stated it will be a free-to-play MMORPG, trailer is expected to be shown at Comic-Con next week.

Guild Wars isn't free-to-play. Just without a monthly subscription fee.

After you buy it, it is free to play.. forever.
Free to play means you don't have to pay at all to play it. You still have to pay to get a copy of GW. And it will be the same with GW2, which is awesome.

Right, you pay to get a copy but you never have to pay again to play. I know that's not true to the definition of the term, but I always felt their method could still qualify for it.

Doesn't really matter either way, but it sure as hell beats subscription fees.

On a similar note: I'm most likely going to be playing GW 2 when it comes out with my old L2 friends. So we can team up.
