Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

Looks like one Californian gamer is throwing all his toys out of his pram and deciding to sue both Microsoft and Bungie for damages in excess of $5 million because he reckons the game keeps freezing his Xbox 360.

He's apparently going to champion the cause of disgruntled Halo gamers everywhere who have experienced the error message:

Whilst Microsoft are aware of this issue, they have as yet not defined why this occurs...

Check out the whole article here = The Register

But is a $40-odd game not working from time to time worth suing for millions?? Why not replace your copy instead?

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

Because people are lame.

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

And I guess coz there's potentially a few million dollars in it for this guy - somehow I don't think if he wins he'll be sharing it with the other gamers he is fighting for

Scarp that - I don't think he'll win at all. Not trying to be offensive, but what is it with this crazy "sue anyone for anything" system America seems to have? We're not far off in the UK ourselves but I don't get what the point is...apart from wasting everyone's time and money over trivial things...

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

Well someone has been sued for half a million for being locked in someones garage for 8 days while trying to steal from them
"I almost went insane your honor"
"...Why were you there in the first place."
"I was stealing his stereo"

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

Ive had that on Mass Effect 4 times in 2 days and not complained not about to sue anyone over it.

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

He might just be mad. I get crazy when I can't beat a game, get past a part, or my favorite game stops work. That is why the first game I'm getting is Assassin's Creed when I get my 360.

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

We get it on ours from time to time - usually on Oblivion - but very rarely with Halo 3 unless Steve's been playing it for about 8 hours straight.

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

Well, while I don't think he can defeat the army of lawyers both M$ and Bungie can amass from the mud pits of Mordor, people have won some wacky cases and made lots of money.

One clumsy woman, for example, spilled McDonalds coffee in her lap and sued. Turned out the coffee was a couple of degrees hotter than "what is allowed" and she won. Huuuge cash settlement. Ca-tching!

Yeah, happened to me about 5-6 times when i played Blue Dragon during the release of Halo 3... since then, it never happened again.

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

I think I'll sue Bungie because they won't give me the Recon armour. Meanies.

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

There was this one woman who was driving a Winnebago or something and put it on cruise control and went in the back to sleep. The vehicle subsequently crashed, so she decided to sue the company for a new one and some cash and won. Now they have to say "Cruise control is not autopilot" in the manuals

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

My friend and I player halo 3 over live for around 15 hours straight. I'm pretty sure it broke my disc drive because it would'nt play any games except for my old halo 2 disc afterwads. So I had to exchange it for a new one. I lost all of my saves and had to start all over from there =(.

I felt like sueing my friend and microsoft both...But I didn't.

*Note to self*

Give 360 a break now and again.

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

wait, why didn't you keep your hard drive?

Re: Gamer Sues Over Halo 3 Issues

I can see the court case now

LameGamer: Waaaa My disk doesn't work
Micro$oft: STFU NOOOOOB
Judge: Case dismissed

That's exactly what I'm thinking...

If you're trading your 360 in for a new one, keep your hard drive.. it's your console that's being repaired/replaced.. not the hard drive.

Lesson learned.
