Gears Of War Movie Details

The Script writer for the upcoming movie adaptation of the highly acclaimed Xbox 360 and PC title Gears Of War Stuart Beattie (also did writing for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) has recently been giving some details on it. He has given an interview with GamePro.com and first thing he said about it is that it will probably be entirely done on green screen like the movie 300.

There's no way to build that world any other way, really. That's a huge world. It's a planet and it's a bubble and it's a building. It's an epic sci-fi war and an enormous film. To get it made at all, the only way to make it for a price is to be on a soundstage. But the game also has that look, which is really interesting, so I think it will dovetail really nicely.

Beattie is going to be working closely with Epic about the film script and also with the developer CliffyB.

The movie sounds like it's gonna be truly epic, I'm glad they chose to make it entirely on a green screen. Seeing as there honestly is no other way to pull off that Gears atmosphere on the big screen. Definitely looking forward to it.

Yeah i think green screen would be perfect for it and like he said, it would be the only way to recreate the scale and gritty style of the game. Plus easier to use the effects and put in the violence :devil:
