Get my Drive back.

I really want to starting drawing again, but these days I can't be bothered using various excuses convincing myself it would be a bad idea.

The last thing I drew was this "Get well soon" picture.

Getwellsoon.jpg

(It's supposed to be a self portrait of me, which adds to the humour)

Anyways, give me advice. (Or compliments, that helps too. ;))

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the picture above was drawn in 20minutes at 5:30am when she called me up telling me she was sick. This was over a month ago.

Niceness... Buuuuuut, is your chin really that cool? I think you are exaggerating your features ;)

My mouth isn't really that big either.

And cool chin? :wassat:

Re: Get my Drive back.

Sure, I'll try my hand at a farewell card.

Not sure if I didn't make it clear through the title - but I've lost my motivation to draw at all. I need advice on how to motivate myself.

Re: Get my Drive back.

forcing yourself to draw isn't bad for improvement...but the best time to draw is with inspiration. the mood will strike you sooner or later, so i wouldn't stress about it :)

Re: Get my Drive back.

Droded, that is the most terrifying drawing I have ever seen.

Motivation? I have the same problem. I'm a wannabe writer, but I have trouble making myself do it. My solution is to take creative writing classes. When I have to write for a grade, when I have deadlines, I'm more likely to make the time than when I'm just trying to squeeze it in around other homework and dicking around on the internet like a dumbass.

Two things motivate me.

Money - turn your skill into a source of income.
I'm a money-driven person. I'll do almost anything for the right price, whether or not I feel like doing it is not an issue.

Come over here, bad boy.

(You know it was bound to happen).

And, would you draw something if I told you how awesome you were? And maybe gave you something TO draw? I'd pay you but it would be a bit complicated.

Re: Get my Drive back.

Illustrate as a profession. Seriously. Your drawings are better than a lot of flash cartoons. Try making some. (:

Re: Get my Drive back.

looks good! no improvements come to mind. :D

if your looking for some sort of inspiration to get going again... i always re-watch a favorite show, movie, or listen to a new album and use how it makes me feel. then i use that feeling to help choose color, shape, and tone. the artistic mind does the rest.

currently for my creative writing (spare time, i've never taken a class) i usually build up a playlist on my computer of songs that share the tone or message that i'm trying to portray.

hope that was of help.
