Getting scars?

My charecter has a badars bulvarine scar on her face and legs, and i was just wondering if there was a way to force your self to get scars, ive tried letting bulverines kill me over and over again, but it doesnt seem to be working, are they just really random, or do you have to let the enemy attack you in a certain way to get them?

u get scars when your knocked out and dont have any resurrection phials on you, so if u want scars sell ur potions then let them kill you.

And don't forget the augmentation that increases scarring.

there's augment that reduces scarring. but also changes to ur character happen when u load into an area. it may not look like ur changing but travel to another area and u'll see.
