Gifting Gold?

I want to start a new file on fable 3, but I dont wanna lose all the money i earned from the previous one. So i was thinking that if i get a friend to play co-op with me then i gave them all my money as a gift. Then I load up my new file, play co-op with them there, and then they send me the money i just gave them in a gift to me. Would that work? Its just basically sending it to myself but legally lol.
