My roommate and I both have Fable 2. We both are playing with high morality, not breaking any laws doing good etc.

Villagers in his game give him gifts CONSTANTLY. HE literally walks into Brightwall and every villager gives him a gift.

I have befriended everyone possible (even have 6 people in love with me), but have yet to receive one gift. None. at. all.

Anybody have any experience with this? Is one of us bugged?

I get gifts left and right, your game is probably glitched then. I don't get every single villager, but maybe abot 75% of the villagers in town have gifts for me.

Did you save the rebel leaders, or the girl in the beginning?

Well I just found out that he and I both saved the girl. I have no idea whats causing it, I don't think its a glitch as both of the other people that live here have also not received any gifts (although, one of them is a bad example, he's playing evil).

I saved the guy (hes a guy in my game) not the rebel leaders.

You just have to make a name for yourself, and most people have to actually kno you and others sometimes just have to fear you, thats all.

It isn't that simple. Believe me, we had done all the same things and he would get 30-40 gifts a play session, I would get none. Even know I am much further (Millfields) and still have yet to get a gift despite making all the "moral" choices, and buying all the properties and lowering the rent.

I have found out why, ok, if they fear you, they will most likely give you money, if they really like you (freinds/best friend) then they will give you actualy items. If yourrs still doesnt get affected by this then i dont really kno, i wouldnt say its glitched, cuz my first playthrough didnt get any gifts from villagers and my 2nd and 3rd did, i will let you kno about my 4th that i am on now(this time its a girl)

In the case of both of us, we are liked. I am now past the masquerade ball thing, and STILL haven't gotten any gifts (except from wife) despite having entire towns of friends and "best friends". He walks into any Brightwall and gets 30-40 gifts (yes, some people give him 2).

It makes no sense. I am convinced his game is glitched as no one else that I know that is playing gets any gifts either.

I found that I started recieving gifts once I became the King. After the (Spoiler) I recieved even more.

You're right, I have the same glitch. I'm the model of decency, rent rates are low, every villager is a friend (except for the ones that the game won't let me befriend for no reason at all, oh wait I know it's another f***ing glitch, surprise surprise) and in the beginning of the game I got gifts left and right, but then nothing... it happened around the time that Jasper's voice no longer functioned.

Hate to dig up this week-old thread, but I'm curious as to how many of these people experiencing lack of gifts chose to wear the fancy prince(ss) outfit.

I have a theory on this issue. I started one game, choosing the practical outfit, and had gifts thrown at me left and right. Half way through the game (or so), I abandoned it and decided to start over. This time, I chose the fancier suit (my son insisted on the dress). I was constantly troubled by the lack of gifts. What did I do wrong? I did nearly the same things, chose the same choices.. all except the outfit. I told my husband to make some friends so we could test HIS game. No gifts either. I've confirmed his choice of the regal prince suit.

Today, I decided to try again. I wasn't too far along in the second so if I had to start over, fine. I chose the practical suit again. Lo and behold, gifts again! Could something this trifling REALLY be the cause? And if so, is it a feature or a bug?

You might have a point. I chose the Practical Princess outfit, and I've always been showered with gifts. I can go into any town now as Queen, and I'll get a good 10-20 gifts if I run around long enough.

My girlfriend got gifts constantly on her first playthrough and she took the elegant suit. It's probably a glitch but a really minor one. If you become king/queen gifts start pouring in, though I don't believe there are any really great gifts except for those you get from your significant other. Elise gave me a massive portrait of her and some other furniture pieces, a few tattoos. While my villager maker chick gave me bob/long hair and the cooks hat. Most villagers just give me crap money and goblets/silver bowls...
