People get "kicked off" by one or, more often, several of the staff deem it necessary to do so
people can be banned for any number of reasons, but most often it is through a violation of the Rules, or several violations of them...
I am not about to go discussing individual cases of members being banned, and I don't imagine the other staff will either, it doesn't serve much of a purpose, and a lot of that is private... but they might, who knows?
as I have told people before, if you're truly curious as to why a member was banned, in most cases, though not all, you can get an idea by looking at their posts on the boards before the ban... those aren't private at all

As I already said, first of all it is the Staff that ban people, not "other members"... only Staff can ban people
and second of all, also already said, people are banned for breaking the Forum Rules, this is not a popularity contest and we do not ban people based on likes or dislikes

why? are you planning on breaking any?
there is no set amount... if there was, some people might just pull off one less than the required amount just to get away with it...
it depends on the rule, it depends on the frequency, it depends on the person...
trust me, if anyone is skating on thin ice, we let them know

Look at me. Everyone hates me. But I'm yet to get banned because I know when to stop, at least sometimes. But every annoying and stupid thing falls into the forum guidelines so I'm fine. I got an infraction once, but it got reversed, that was the closest I got to getting banned.

I'd like to explain the Grim case, just to clarify; As can be seen Grim got into a bit of a scuffle with most of us Staff in the Fallout 3 thread. It might seem that we banned him just because of that, but there were alot more going on; For once this person has been banned not once, but twice before. He got himself banned, made a new account which we banned on the spot; then he made Grim. We figured he'd just keep going on with making new accounts if we kept banning him and we gave him a second chance, which we told him and that we'd be watching him, so he better behave himself.
Until recently he had been doing OK, but a time ago he started spamming and throwing random insults, which got him banned in the first place, so we figured he had wasted his second (well, third actually) chance.
We do not ban people just because we disagree with them.

I know this has already been answered but I just want to make it clear that nobody on this forum really needs to worry about being banned. It really is a last resort and I think there's only been a small handful of members that I have had to ban myself. There really isn't a whole lot to worry about provided everyone just plays nice and gets along. =]Triz;127938 said:
