Growing Towns?

I read the stuff about how your town can evolve and after I completed the spire Oakfield had grown quite a bit, back in 07 I also heard that it is possible to turn camps into towns and that area that was shown in the video looked a lot like brightwood. I went out to find that area and yes it was there, unfortunialy for me it looked like bandits had wiped out the traders years ago.... but.

As I bought Giles farm I noticed that brightwood as once again become full of life and traders visits my farm everyday.

Is there any hope for me that Brightwood will ever become a town?

Re: Growing Towns?

Brightwood I don't know, but that's what I'm trying to do with Bower Lake. I doubt it'll work, but I'm hoping that cranking up the Gypsy Camp's economy will make them turn into a town after I come back from the Spire.

And I don't know. I do know that if you take the "Kill the Bandits in Brightwood" quest it grows; and if you take the help the bandits one it dies; and I think that if you do nothing it also dies.

I can't really help, though. Seeing as I haven't even left for the Spire yet, I don't know if there's another advance in time.

Re: Growing Towns?

Regarding the advance thing I don't think that there is another like the spire, I think if you wonna make all the towns mighty big and perfect you have to prepare them for the 10 years time advance.

Re: Growing Towns?

Yeah, so same answer to your question-- Brightwood probably won't become a town.

Re: Growing Towns?

hmmmm.... The quest line is very short anyway so I might just start over....

Re: Growing Towns?

Good luck getting it to grow, then.

Re: Growing Towns?

Well if you took Barnum's request at westwood, after the spire it pretty much turns into a much nicer place. I'd say that it is all possible, as of now I want to see if I can turn the bandit camp in Bower lake into something by buying Thag's House and renting it out. Probably not though, but who knows.

Of course doing nothing can also have it's results, once I never accepted the ToL's help and after I came back from the spire I saw what had happened. Really distressing I say. The only trouble is there is only one point in time where everything has the chance to grow. At least there should be another jump in time, maybe....

I bought Thag's house, as well as the Gypsy Camp, and I'm renting them all... but Thag's house doesn't seem to get any better. Every time I go by it's still full of Bandits. Maybe they're the ones renting it? That would make me feel kind of guilty, since every time I go back there I slaughter them all to the last man.

And... yes, I think there should be more time advances.
