Rockstar recently released a small batch of new screenshots (first 3 are new) for their highly anticipated next GTA title GTA V. CVG has also done a video analysis of the screenshots...
More screenshots are scheduled to be released later in the week

If they can manage to get a balance with the best of both worlds (like they used to), then I'll be all over it. GTA IV was too serious for my tastes and too much focus on realism (bringing in limitations), while SR3 hangs entirely on the extremely over the top spectrum. I miss having all that freedom while still being able to take things seriously when it called for it.

Over-the-top humour > Realism

Who wants their pavement-surfing victims to realistically roll over the car? I want my victims to fly off into the air Team Rocket style!

Why do the people still suck? Seriously, why do they still look like slightly better versions of GTA 3? They seem to improve everything with each game they make EXCEPT the blocky-looking people.

They're not extras in Minecraft or anything but to me, there is very little improvement on the way the GTA 3 characters look.

Personal opinion: upsetting internet users since the late 20th century.

Im guessing there is only so far they can push the visuals without performance issues with lag and pop up textures etc. With cities so large and so many things going on at one time many companies even said GTA IV was a technicial marvel. They managed to get multiple animation/physics/lighting and AI systems all working together along with a day/night cycle, a marvel in itself.

Rockstar released some more screens too:

See the environments and all other visuals improve greatly with every game. Those screens are great. It's why I feel a bit let down with the people animations somewhat.

What? It's true that consoles are a major drawback for PC games, especially when it comes to quality - just look at the first Crysis maxed out on the PC and see how it looks on the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3 or how many games just simply look ugly in anything that's > 720p.

Ask me, they should focus their releases on the PC. I'm quite sure that either the game looks like a re-textured GTA IV or it will be released for a new-gen console that will roughly have 2009 hardware specs.

Yeah, because graphics is the only thing that really matters in gaming. By your logic, because the visuals will be inferior on console, they shouldn't even be bothered with them so less people can enjoy it. Brilliant idea.
