Half-life 2 episode one

Out of the unforgettable depths of the lost members, Archon climbs back up and asks a question before plumiting down for a few days more.

Ok, i got half-life 2 episode 1(yes, it's a legal version and having a hacked hl2 would be hard to do by having to pass through steam) and i open the game up then 2 seconds after the screen finally comes up it freezes and i hae to close it so now you know the problem so i ask, what do i @#$%ing do?

for the computer..??--yeah obviously, you said Steam.

You're computer has all it needs to run that game?

And second, Do you load a game? or you mean you literally start it up, and get to the main screen and it freezes?

I was able to go to new game(but the new game menu not in the game itself) then it froze once, but the other times the whole menu opened up and it just froze.
and yeah it's pc

You should run Can you run it? Just in case to see.

And..Have you tried Turning down the graphics? Or turning down the sound? Half life has a real problem if your volume is up to loud. (at least it did for me all the time both half life and hl2ep1)

i'll try, i had the volume turned all the way up, and it was impossible to go in the options without it freezing on me and i was going to do can you run it while it installed but @#$% EI won't open up.

I have the same problem with garry's mod, it's the only source engine game I can't run

Yeah i checked out can you run it and it was fine except the disk space but i already have it installed so i don't see the problem '_'
also on can you run it, it's passes on the recommened but yet again not on disk space.

also i already defraged the game so thats not an option.

EDIT: i tryed playing the game again and it froze, what do i do i'm desperate to play

meh, i not it at a yardsale, the code works and all but i want to get orange box, but for now ep1 will have to do.

but unfortunatly it doesn't work
