Halo 3 Hits $300M Sales In First Week...

Halo 3 has topped $300 million in worldwide sales in its first week.

"Initial reports from retailers worldwide show console sales have more than doubled compared with the weekly average", Microsoft has added in a statement. Halo 3 a system seller? No way?

Bungie's sequel racked up $170m in sales on day one in the US alone, surpassing Microsoft's prediction of a measly $155m in sales. Halo 2 generated $125 million in day one sales, to put that into some sort of perspective.

Even Bill Gates has been moved to comment, calling Halo a cultural phenomenon and the launch of Halo 3 an important milestone for Xbox 360 and for videogames as entertainment and as an art form.

"Halo 3 embodies our vision for the future of entertainment, where some of the world's greatest creative minds will deliver a new generation of interactive storytelling", Gates said.

Now thats quite the sales total so far, you cant help but be stunned and impressed with that. Fair to say we havent seen the last Halo game, thats for sure :sly:

Did you know their are also books about Halo, 5 in total. Apparently in book 1 you get to read stuff about Masterchief himself. One of the books also include the story between the games Halo 1 and Halo 2.

Did you know their are also books about Halo, 5 in total. Apparently in book 1 you get to read stuff about Masterchief himself. One of the books also include the story between the games Halo 1 and Halo 2.

Yeah the first book was apparently a prequel to the first game and others fill in other parts of the story. Halo: Ghosts of Onyx was in the New York Times bestsellers list.

Oh never knew that, I find this rather interesting. Games top sellers, Book top sellers, what's next? I've only heard about them (books), now I'm seriously considering of purchasing the whole lot. If I am correct the books cost about 8$ each. I find this more than worth it When I heard the lovely Halo intro (especially the holy singing stuff) I freaked. I was staying over a night at a friend. I asked him if he had Halo 3, no he said. When I was half asleep I heard the intro and I totally freaked. At first I thought, ah Halo 2. But then.. well it was more like... OMFGOMFGOMFG->OMGFMGOMGFOGM and then, his 360 crashed now I will probably have to wait until upcoming saturday/sunday, maybe even longer. Anywayz I was thinkinh of buying a 360 for Halo 3 only so I'm saving up money and working me bloody but off as soon as I have Halo 3 I'll notify you all *hopes to play live together* Halo 3 shall rule the world, well... Kira first, then Halo 3.

Doing the 360 a great disservice only getting it for Halo 3 though as there are many more amazing top drawer titles for it than just that. Also Death Note is great too

It's doubling sales of the Xbox as well. I can't wait to hear about it's one month total. It will also likely accompany a lot of Christmas sales
