Halo 3 Recon.

It's a standalone expansion to Halo 3 in which you play as a UNSC ODST on a new campaign that takes place just before Halo 3. Since you're not a Spartan you have to emlploy stealth and be more tactical. Like Halo 3 it will also have online co-op and will come with it's own multiplayer maps.

Too bad we have to wait a year though... I just hope that since it takes place before Halo 3, we can fight against the Elites again. I mean, I love the guys (I've played as one since Halo 2), but I love them better as enemies. Based on the armor the Brutes are wearing though, it's not likely.

Its set in 2009.. So they are releasing it when Halo is going to not be played anymore? Meh.

But it still looks cool.. The ODST's are more awesome looking than Master Chief. :D

I don't know man, Halo 3 is still number one on the XBL charts.
And even if no one did play it anymore by that point, it would be a good strategy to release it in order to bring back players.

I love ODST's so I'd play it. I mean the ODST outfit was off the chain, black and urban camo. So tight.


The Chief was cool and all, but there were other Spartans that should've been in the games. They all weren't dead. So that whole "last of his kind" bs should've been ditched.

I agree, ODST's are awesome.

The other Spartans are stuck inside the Dyson Sphere, so I don't see how they would make it into the storyline. Maybe they'll have their own game later, we still have an unannounced Halo project or two...

All of them got trapped on Onyx? I thought that was just a few.

I've watched the video, and wanted it already. I think that's what's happened when Master Chief was off rescuing the Universe. I'm very excited over the new game. +rep:)

Yeah, all the surviving Spartans are trapped.

But yeah, you can find info on it at Xbox.com.

also...you may not remember but New Mombasa, the city where one of the three new campaign missions is set, was featured in a teaser trailer for early Halo 2. It was never released with the game but was in E3 2003. you can see the original here.

Well you obviously won't fight the elites because it's set before Halo 3 an AFTER Halo 2 and at the end of Halo 2 the elites become your friends...

EDIT: Kinda scratch that because the Recon trailer occurs when the Prophet of Truth goes slipspace in New Mombassa which is BEFORE the uniting of the UNSC and the Elites

Recon look like a refreshing twist to the campaign. It's nice to step away from the main character.

Halo 3 continues to dominate the Xbox LIVE charts, and has never dropped lower than second place. The fanbase is too big for people to just stop playing it.

I agree, each evening at least 3 or 4 of my friends are playing it, along with myself from time to time. I love the campaign.:)

I downloaded the Halo 3: Recon trailer from the Xbox LIVE marketplace the other day and thought I watching an actual movie with live actors - it looked that good. Of course, it may have just been a cutscene, but it looked better than the kind of visuals that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children sported. I'm really looking forward to playing Recon when it's finally released. I thought the original Halo 3 campaign was a blast to play through with friends (I'm actually going through it again now with Angel).

Shame we have to wait so long before it's released, though!

Think you still have my copy, think i borrowed it to you some time ago and forgot about it. Wasnt until my cousin asked me about it the other day i remembered. :lol:
