Halo Movie?

Okay, we've all heard for a few years now that a Halo movie is in the works...but when will it be released? Any speculation on this topic?

Well, there is some pretty nifty clips on the LIVE marketplace. One called "Landfall" is what looks like part of a Halo movie, with real actors and stuff. If it's still there, you should go check it out, it's under Halo 3.

I got an email, from Bungie. There's a Penny arcade, thing they are attending, and then they are announcing 3 new projects.

As far as im aware the Halo Movie has been cancelled for the moment.

First there was this:

Although Microsoft's Wingnut Films and director Peter Jackson's Weta studios had said that they would continue pre-production work on Halo, a movie based on the video game, after Universal and 20th Century Fox backed out of co-financing it, Jackson and Microsoft announced today (Tuesday) that they had changed their minds and were shutting down the film -- at least temporarily. In a statement, they said that they had agreed to wait until backing was in place that would enable them to "fulfill the promise we made to millions of Halo fans throughout the world that we would settle for no less than bringing a first class film to the big screen." They nevertheless held out hope that the film would eventually be made. "While it will undoubtedly take a little longer for Halo to reach the big screen, we are confident that the final feature film will be well worth the wait," they said.

Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson has agreed to put his big budget movie version of video game Halo on hold while he searches for a new studio. The Lord of the Rings filmmaker had continued to shoot the joint project with Microsoft despite the financial withdrawal of Fox and Universal last month. But Jackson - who has handed directorial duties to Neill Blomkamp, and will be a executive producer - has pulled the plug, with the mutual agreement of Microsoft. He says, "We are confident that the final feature film will be well worth the wait." The two movie giants were thought to have pulled out because of a spiraling budget.

I agree with Peter. If they are going to do it, I want it done right, no matter how long it takes.

I saw the video trailer on the marketplace, it looks so good and i can't wait till it does come out.
