Hey, I'm having this really frustrating problem with my onboard sound card. I need to record something for school, right, so I've got a lead coming out of the headphones out from my amp, into the line in on my computer. Using the Realtek driver, it says nothing is plugged into the line in socket. But if I update to the Microsoft driver, line in works fine, but the problem is that it will only recognise the digital output, when I'm trying to use analogue.
To clarify:
Under the Realtek regime, in the playback devices window it has both Digital Audio, and Speakers (this is the one we need to work). In the recording devices window, it shows all the recording devices, but says the line in doesn't have anything plugged into it.

Under the microsoft regime, in the playback devices window, it ONLY has the digital output. I can't seem to do anything to make speakers pop up. In the recording devices window, it shows them all, and if I disable everything except line in, the little level meter comes up, and goes high when I strum my guitar, and doesn't do anything when I don't, so that part is working fine.
