Has Anyone Else Experienced This Glitch?

A new glitch has appeared in my game. When my dog points out dig spots or a treasure chests, I dig it up or open the chest nothing is there. This is very annoying because I know I'm missing out on all the goodies that are available.
Does anyone know why this is happening or it is because I completed the story?

it shouldnt matter if you have completed the story.... Have you tried to sleep and then go back to the same area?
