Help! My 360 ate my disc!

So I was playing Lost Planet 2 and decided to take a break. When I came back turned the 360 on I noticed that the Dashboard didn't report any disc being inside. So I popped that sucker up, and lo' and behold, the disc tray was empty!

When I gently shake my 360 I hear something lose within rattling about, so the logical conclusion would be that it somehow went inside the console.

Now... what the hell am I supposed to do?!

there is no warranty void if take the front of the Xbox counsel off. You can take advice from me, i have dissembled and fixed my Xbox several times in the past.
Gently pry it open while you have the disk tray out. shake your Xbox a bit and see if it falls out.

Do you live with anyone? Maybe a room mate took it out.

Otherwise, just unscrew it and take a look see.

That's not really an option. It is a brand new console, and I don't want to void my warranty...

oh.. my bad. Just try my idea tho, you can accomplish allot with that front taken off. You can clean it and junk.

Naw, no luck. I can hear it in there alright, but try as I might it just won't come out, no matter what angle I try shaking the 360 at.

I'd take a good flashlight and see if you see anything shine. Tell me where you see it.

my suggestion is learn how to place a disc in the tray, really isnt all that hard. try that out and let me now how that works out for you.

That has nothing to do with it, xbox 360 games are awesome, but the console sucks arse. it is on the back end of the quality spectrum.

Crisis averted, it finally (after much 'encouragement' on my part) spat it out. Though it had a nigh-perfect circular scratch on it. Hmm... sounds like a production error, doesn't it? Gonna see if I can't get it replaced. After all, I got the game this Friday and haven't played it much.

I had this happen when i forgot there was a disc inside and picked the console up to take it downstairs to play on that TV when friends came round. Had to tilt it up and try and grab it to get it out.

Sure did, i heard the noise and thought 'What the hell is... Oh crap!'. Got it out of there though with no damage to console or disc.
