Heros and villians ups and downs

:) being good has its ups but its downs same as evil like if you good people love you but its hard to break in to places and steal when people are always following you screaming yaaay whooo thats my man but being bad is good people run away and they don't follow but sometimes guards will follow so try to stay neutral its the greatest. But the horns are Bad ass:w00t:

guards always follow me, I go into a house get an item from cupboard or something, then about 5 seconds later the guard is in the house. Luckily too slow to catch me.

I played as a completely good person. Stealing isn't hard if you know where to do it. I stand right behind the store owner and steal. It's hilarious to watch. But yes, the following thing is definitely annoying when you're trying to isolate a homeowner to get their house. But now I completely own Knothole Glade, and sleeping around is the same thing as earning craptons of money.

Just remember that guile is directly connected to stealing, picklocking, and not getting noticed. It was the first thing I maxed out (because physique costs a whopping 84000 to get the last level @__@)

I always get the legendary line "I'm watching you" as i enter a town and it bugs me abit...

The big up about being a villain is that you can kill entire cities!

stealing is very tough, I have noticed the following in my games.

1 - in daytime so when shopkeeper is there even if I am behind them they will walk and change the direction they facing so they can see me, every so often they turn away but it isnt for much more than 5 seconds so not enough time to steal item.
2 - at night time I tried a few things to steal things at barber shop in bowerstone south.
(a) if I bribed the guard I get enough time to pick lock the door but then not enough time to steal an item, when I walk in the bell of the shop rings and wakes up the shop owner who walks down the stairs (yes I doing the tip toeing), also the first thing the guard does when the bribe ends is walk in the shop.
(b) I did try to picklock the door and then re bribe the guard so I can have more time in the shop but the door locks itself again when I walk away from it.

The only time I easily stealed stuff was in knothole glade doing this.

Wait till the quest where you have to end the bandit seige, in this quest all the shop items are still on display but shop owners locked in their homes, all the guards are facing one direction only in static positions. You can steal all items without been seen.

I would love to see a good step by step guide on how to steal at night and daytime.

in daytime get the shopkeeper to follow you and then get him drunk

at night i dont know better than just lockpik and then steal

yeah the follow and get drunk wasnt an option as I tried it on a evil character :)
