Most would automatically shut down at that point unless you changed the safety settings of the temperature auto shutdown.

Is your motherboard fan connected? If not, that could be one of the reasons. Like Andy said, most CPU's would automatically shut off at that temperature to prevent permanent damage, or even death (to itself).

Well, it only tends to shut off when I'm playing 3D games. (sorry I'm late, but it's back to 90 again today)
It tends to run well at 70 degrees. I'm downloading a motheroboard driver to see if that fixes it. Or maybe its just my temperature reading software is reading the wrong temp. Iuno.
