How can you keep your wife happy and stop her divorcing you?

How can you keep your wife happy and stop her divorcing you?

How's the best ways to keep your wife? Money? House? Specific personality trait or type of NPC?
I know a high allowance keeps them happierm but my wife right now divorces me if i leave her long enough to go to Oakfield and back by carriage, picking up a shag in Oakfield along the way. (It's Alex, btw.)
Do they soemhow know you cheat on them and get more likely to divorce you, even if they don't see you? Some people have wives next door to each other, yet they don;t get divorced! Please help.

Does she live in a nice house?
That usually keeps my Alex happy. Even if it's a crappy house, you should put nice furniture in it. And be sure to buy her gifts often.

Bring her to Fairfax castle to live there ;)
There's a nice "never divorcing" bug awaiting you inside its walls :P

The more stars the house has, the better it is. Really good it is to live in the most beautiful house in the region. For example, the best house to live in Bowerstone, market place, is: This charm house (or in english grace house?) in Fairfax street.

AND a last but not least tip: Give your family that much money (budget) so that your marital partner is "VERY happy" with how much it is. This will keep him/her happy while you're travelling.

all I do is keep her in fairfax castle, 2500 allowance (was 7500, but I fast travel everywhere and you get the allownace minus', but no rent =[, and after all, times are hard with money)

I tried to get Alex to divorce me earlier and when she finally said, "That's it! This marriage is over!" She stalked off but the ring above her head didn't disappear. I followed her for a while and she was heading toward my house and ended up walking in idle circles around the secret bookshelf escape hatch. I watched her for like a minute more and when I was sure she wouldn't just leave, I had to shoot her. She wouldn't interact and was just walking in circles. Poor thing, I know I did the right thing to put her down when I did.

Lol you talk like she is a dog. But buy a good house change furniture often have sex with them like every other day or when they want to. Than make there alownance like 1 thousand that should keep them happy. I have all the houses in Bower stone market and i only let my wifes have minimum alowance and there happy so.

See, i've doen all this except putting them in fairfax castle. Money isn't working, sex isn;'t working, gifts, dates, houses... i had one husband in fairfax castle but he was rich and i forgot to change his allowance. Are whores more or less likely to divorce you?

My wife is also alex thats why i like her because she isnt posh so she is very happy with just 20 allwance ( the posher person you marry the more they expect ) also for an npc alex has gotta be the best looking girl ive seen

Do what every one else says and if all else fails go henry the 8th way and marry someone else SIX TIMES ^_^

henry the 8th only legally had 4 or 5 marriages, depending on your religious beliefs; Fact ^^

I went through six or seven divorcing me for no good reason (they were all happy/happy/very happy) before marrying Alex. Everything was great until I move her to Reaver's mansion, do the Evil in Wraithmarsh quest and when I return to Bloodstone discover she's been killed by the banshee!

I'll never find another one like Alex. (Until I start another game....)
