I recently bought xbox live gold and wanted to trade a few weapons by asking people through the forum, but I'm not sure how to, being that there are quite a few different ways to connect with others and I haven't figured out how the friend system works. How do people usually go about doing this?

find someone willing to trade you the items you need (this can be done in the marketplace forum) and usually you will exchange gamertags. then, on your console go to the "Friends" tab and scroll to the right until it gives you the option to "add friend". you can then enter their gamertag and it will send them a request to be your friend. once that happens you can join their game when they are online and gift them (or trade items by gifting and them gifting to you). this is usually how I go about it, if someone knows another way to send gifts over xbox live (for Fable 3) maybe they will post too.
