How long does it take for your baby to mature to a child?

So my hero had a baby but it won't seem to grow up. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes?

I believe I was gone for not more than a couple days for my son - Tater - to transform into a little annoying lad.

I've been away tons of days and it still won't grow up....I'm hoping it's not some other annoying glitch...sigh...
