How long is the battle in the temple in aurora supposed to last?

I have been hacking away for 5 hours non-stop at these shadow people that seem to be endless. Me and my sister have switched playing this part and it doesn't seem to want to end. How exactly are you supposed to pass this? I have searched the area and found no exit, it is very limited. I have used up all my potions and am surviving by evading the enemy until I heal up. Tips will be appreciated thanks.

Its a glitch, cut your game off and dont save, it will start from the autosave, dont save
