to get the legendary weapon/proceed with main quest line, once.

You can do it as many times as you want

You gotta have all perfect rounds to get the legendary weapons. One way to do this is to co-op.

Yes, you could do co-op. But you can also try to level your spells up to rank 5, and AoE the hell out of them.
