How to use backups?

I know how to back up files, but how do you actually use them in an emergancy?

I assume you delete the ones in fable and replace them with the backups?

Sorry if this has been explained already, I haven't seen it around. Probably because it's so obvious, but meh. +rep for the answer.

Also, if anyone can link me to a tng editor download, I'd appreciate it.

Re: How to use backups?

You copy the back-up files into their respective folders. These are the default folders and should be the same for anyone I think.

game.bin and script.bin go here:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\data\CompiledDefs

graphics.big goes here:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\data\graphics

textures.big goes here:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\data\graphics\pc

text.big goes here:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\data\lang\English

effects.big goes here:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\data\Misc\pc

I have never had to replace the FinalAlbion.wad.

You should make a back-up of all the tng files in:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\data\Levels\FinalAlbion

That's the folder you will get if you use FreeRoam. Once you start editing tng files using AlbEx, ChocBox, or manually, you will make mistakes or decide you just don't like changes and can fix that by replacing the tng file for the region you edited. You do that by copying the tng to the folder above.

Re: How to use backups?

MAke the backups as jwc2200 suggests. Just copy paste them in the original directory. If anything goes wrong; replace the screwed file with the backup.
