Hello everyone,

I just registered here so i can ask everyone here a question. Yesterday i finally found a PC version of Fable TLC, and today i installed it. But whenever i double click the desktop shortcut the game does not show itself. When i start up Process Explorer then i see that Fable.exe is started though?

Is Fable TLC incompatible with Windows 7 Home Premium?

I had no problems running Fable TLC on Windows 7 Home Premium, nor did I have any with Professional x64. Have you tried running the process in compatibility mode and see what happens?

I just tried it with both XP modes and all three Vista modes with and without Admin rights. I have DirectX9 installed so that could not be the problem could it? All that happens is that in process explorer(see attached screenshot) i can see that fable.exe started but nothing else happens?

Do i have to install something else besides DirectX9?

I also had no trouble running Fable: TLC on Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Are your graphics card drivers up to date? In fact, if you know the name or model number of your graphics card then I can look into it for you. I could very well be barking up the wrong tree, though.

It is a NVidia Geforce G100, and i just checked and they are not up to date i have 258.96 installed and the latest for my graphics card are 260.89. So i am currently downloading the latest drivers and i will install them afterwards. Thanks for remembering me about that Projectego. :)

But my graphics card is from after Fable TLC came out, so shouldn't that mean it could not be the problem? (I am no computer expert so i can be seriously wrong here.)

EDIT: Installed the new drivers but unfortunately that did not solve the problem.

Try this: Navigate your way to main Fable: TLC executable file (not the shortcut), it should be under: My Computer > C: / > Program Files (or Program Files x64) > Microsoft Games > Fable: The Lost Chapters > Fable.exe

When you find it - right click it and go to Properties > Compatibility > and check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator" > click apply, followed by OK. Then attempt to run the game via the Fable.exe file you just edited. You should now be able to play the game. If so, try again using your desktop shortcut. I think. Good luck and do please let us know how you got on!

*Projectego: I tried that to but the same thing happens...i can see in Process Explorer that fable.exe is started, but the game refuses to show itself?

*Arseface: My system is not even one year old, but one can never know so i checked it with the link you provided and the result from it can be seen in the attached screenshot. Why it shows that i use Windows 7 Ultimate is beyond me since i have Windows 7 Home Premium 32bits installed?

I even un-installed the game...cleaned the registry and then reinstalled the game, this also did not solve the problem. So i un-installed again....cleaned the registry again and then installed the game to C:\Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters to see if that solved it(Due to UAC in Windows 7)...and nope it did not.

Try reinstalling the game. If problem persists (consult a doctor? Nah) double check how you installed it. There's usually a Readme file, so its bound to be pretty easy to see the catch..

Wow i thought this thread would have been lost in the depths of these forums. But i might try that out some day soon r5v3n, i hat to totally reinstall Windows so who knows what will happen this time. :)

Dude, get a Xbox for old games. Can't get one IRL, but try amazon for under fifty. (I'd be leery of under thirty.)

LoL actually i do have an old XBox and i did play Fable on it, i still have it. But that was the standard version and not the TLC edition, so once i saw the PC version of TLC for a cheap prize in a game store i got it. So now i will try again to get it to work on my system some day soon. :)

Guys, come on, look at how old this thread is. Stop posting in here.

I agree, especially since Fable TLC is now working like a charm on my computer...thanks every one. :D
