I hope Fable 2 will not be a letdown for me

It will already be great to me but I'm worried I'm getting my hopes up. I just read in another topic that PM wanted to take the girl out of the game (they didn't) i'm just concerned about the aspects.

- you can't own everything you can only own every house ( that goes along with dungeons and stuff) so I'm hoping these things will come with the land so then you truly can own every thing.

-There are only 8 spells, every one of them has only 5 levels, you can have up to 80 different variations of them but I don't even know what they mean by that.

-No guild, and I heard you can't visit the ruins of them so there might not be old items like the sword of aeons or jack's mask, but since it's in the days of guns I haven't seen any armour like platemail I've only seen normal clothes. and if I have to go around the whole game wearing villiger clothes I will be sad.

- lastly there are no capes still!!!!! gtg 2 school now lol

PM said everything can be owned including the land and property and yes there are only 8 spells but I think when you level them up you keep the previous ones and there is no guild because it was destroyed but I think you can find pieces of the guild were it was and what happened to it and I was hoping there would be some capes

The problem is we all loved fable 1 so much that we want so much from the 2nd one, I just want the game to come out, and I will judge it then, then again it would have to be a true stinker of a game for it to disappoint me! :frenchy:

Good to manage your expectations early. Imagine if you had no preconceived notions about the game and just picked it up and started playing it. In other words when the game is finally released clear away everything you have heard and come at it with an open mind.

wise words. It's easy to be let down my minor aspects of the game. keep in mind that these things are only single issues you have with an entire game. Keep in mind that no game is perfect and just because there are 8 different spells, everything else outweighs that a million to 1! ^_^

To clarify on the 8 spells with "over 80 different variations". I am pretty sure they mean that there is a way to combine spell effects. For instance (and this is only an estimated example >.>), you can combine slow time with lightning for longer lasting damage. If your levels for the two are high enough, you could combine Berserk with Enflame to make yourself a giant flaming creature that can shoot fireballs for a period of time. I have no idea if those are actual outcomes, i'm just making examples.

I think the one thing that is giving me some good reassurance is that everything that we have been told, we have been shown as well. There is also much, much more to come, especially at E3. Lionhead is very involved with it's fans, and is very receptive to everything we have to say, so they do their best not to dissapoint. I'm sure the spell system is much more complex than "8 spells, level them up, done!". Perhaps you will be able to combine them or each spell has certain characteristics that you could customize in some way. I doubt Lionhead would make the spell system less impressive than it was in the last game (as well as the rest of the aspects of the game). I have a good feeling that this will be what Molyneux really wanted Fable to be, and that it will be one the those rare sequels that are even better than the original.

in the most recent interview i saw they talked about little kids reenacting the adventures in fable 1 so you will have that... and they said you will mix the 8 spells to have different variations so i think they know its good... and PM has said it would take something like 1000 hours of gameplay to get e ough money to buy everything so i think youll be able to buy enough... i agree you dont want to get your hopes up too high but it will be great im sure

I'm a little worried as well. But I think once we have and play the game, we'll love it as much as tlc. I know Peter said that it would cost 100 million in gold to buy everything, but there's plenty of time, if not years to play and perfect the game, the way you want it. Change is daunting but adaptable.

Dude Im ready for the game. But yeah I have a sinking feeling that there are things that will let us down. But understand we have to let the old go and embrace the new. Im sure that the things removed from fable 2 will be replaced with things that we will wish are in the third game.

I dont think it will be disapointing I have been waiting for 4 years for it and in 2007 I finally found there was going to be a Fable 2 since first time I finshed the game my mates said theres going to ba a fable 2 in 2005 but it turned out to be lost chapters my other mates sayed I had to many high hopes for it to come out and now in a few month we will be sitting down and playing the game of the century. Fable 2 may not sell more copies than GTA or Halo but at least when it comes out it surelly will everything but dispointing
