I Like Snow.

I like snow. Snow's like the kick-*** uncle that drives a motorcycle and jumps off cliffs, but you hardly ever see him. Snow's awesome, because you can make castles, forts, houses, not to mention Igloos. Without Igloos, the Eskimos would die from the intense cold.

I also enjoy snowball fights. Say I want to reenact Helms Deep because I'm a dork. I can use the snow to make a fort, and literally bruise my friends as they run towards the fort. It might seem childish, it might seem stupid, but I think it's fun.

Not only that, but snowball fights are intense. You never know whether the snowball is a ****ty snowball that your friend made, or a rock hard one. Also, snowballs can go up to speeds like 60 miles per hour, without machinery. That's because they're so aerodynamic, they will go fast for you.

Another reason why I love snow can only be described with two words.

Snowball launcher.

Also, snow makes snowmen. By making a snowman, you can determine how many friends you have by how well you make the snowman. (<Commented by my friend, Kevin)

Snow also creates other things, like swans...fruit...and Greek gods.

Snow looks good, too. It feels good, if you're wearing the right clothing. People like me can go outside in the snow with only our boxers on...but we refrain from that...most of us. I don't see heat feeling good. It makes me sweat. Even though sweating is healthy, it's still not as good as snow.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm from the north. Way up north. If you prefer heat, that's fine with me. Though, I don't know if you can, but I can't make a heat ball. I can't make a snowman out of heat. I can't use the heat to make a fort.

So, that's why I like snow.

Hopefully, I'm not the only one who digs snow. If you do, why do you like snow? Do you dislike heat like me? How good can you make a snowman?

I like snowballs packed with rocks.

Re: I Like Snow.

i like making snow walls then throwing snowballs loaded with stones at it with a friend behind it :)

Re: I Like Snow.

Yay... snow... on the other hand, it's the dead of summer... so why are we talking about snow? And no, you can't have a snowball fight in the summer... but water balloon fights are all good. And no, you can't make heat-men... but you also can't swim in the winter.

Where I live, I'm pretty lucky. Around the time I get sick of winter, it's summer, and vice versa. On the other hand, we don't get that much snow, compared to more northerly regions. 4 to 6 or 8 inches (10.16 to 15.24 or 20.32 centimeters (I used a conversion website, so blame that if it's wrong) is a good snowfall for us. A foot or more is unusual or incredible. Any snowfall is something to comment on, even flurries that don't accumulate. Since we don't get that much snow and we get plenty of heat (and there's a fair amount of water) snow wins just for rarity.

Re: I Like Snow.

That depends, you can have a snowball fight if you save up 10 snowballs from the winter and then ambush your friends.

Dude, talking about snow in the summer is alright.

Trying to get snow in the summer, well...that's a bit weird.

By the way, I wouldn't like to have snow every year. But I still like it for every reason I put. We get both cold and hot water, not to mention the good air conditioning and plentiful amounts of hot chocolate . Not trying to be mean bro, but I always thought the heat was...uncomfortable. At times, I didn't even want to go outside. Not trying to be mean, just saying.

Oh yea, and we're just the same when it comes to a balance of seasons. It's true,I do get sick of cold, but I also get sick of heat. So, I equally get sick of both, kind of. :D

Overall, I like winter over summer. Yea, swimming is fun...but snowball fights own. :hmm: (At least, that's what I think)

Re: I Like Snow.

Snow for teh win.

Re: I Like Snow.

Snow is my favourite weapon....eh, I mean weather...

Even though the chances of a white Christmas in this country are remote, I always hold out for it and get very disappointed when inevitably it just piddles it down all day instead. Snowball fights are the best - also sledging and attempting to cram three people on a teatray in the hope you won't fall off and break something important - like your neck.

Sadly my kid hates snow - she likes the thought of it but when she's actually out in the stuff she gets really whiny and spoils everything by doing the whole little kid crying thing...she'll learn one day though that when it comes to snow, she has to stay outside as long as me and stop complaining about hypothermia and other minor conditions...

Re: I Like Snow.

I think they're both good, but our summers always seem... I don't know, "bigger." We're more likely to get a 100 degree (roughly 38 celsius, compliments of a conversion site) day than we are to get snow, and as far as I know 100/38 is very hot compared to many places north of us, even if it isn't much compared to the southwest or places in the south US. Or Africa or Australia, maybe Asia, for that matter (I think).

But... but... a kid who doesn't like snow?????? There is officially something wrong with your kid, Angel. The only time I ever remember having a problem with snow (me or my siblinGs) was either A) When we got a bit too violent and started getting facefulls of snow at short range, B) When we got too violent and punches were thrown, C) When we started playing snow football (normal American football, only in a light accumulation of snow so it's slippery and more violent) or D) When we got those glorious foot-to-two-foot (30.48 cm-to-60.96 cm according to a conversion site) and we were not yet tall enough and so couldn't walk in them and had to either be pulled on sleds or carried or slog painfully through way-to-deep snow. Those were a bit uncomfortable.

I'm having a bit of a dichotomy here, though. I can't decide if sledding (my preferred snow activity) or the slip-n-slide is more fun. Yesterday, on the Fourth of July/day we celebrate my birthday, we dragged out the tarps, put them on a hill, dropped bags of mulch at the corners, used more bags of mulch piled underneath the tarp at the bottom to form a very violent brake and a collecting pool, got the sprinkler spraying water on it, then started sliding down. Basically, it's sledding in the summer. I can't decide if it's better, worse, or the same than sledding. I think it's a bit more painful, since you have to fall smash into the ground and the brakes at the bottom (but only because we didn't have enough tarp to go to the bottom of the hill where we could slow naturally) and with sledding the only pain we have is when we purposefully ram each other at high speed and/or crash into those damn inconvenient trees and bushes.

So, what you all need to do is go set up a slip-n-slide, slide for five hours, go to sleep, measure your soreness against past sledding experiences and your fun, then tell me what your view is. Oh, and be careful going head first. I came really ****ing close to breaking my damn neck a couple times.

But yeah, cold is better for some things. Cold you can fight with blankets or more clothes. For heat, you can only remove so much clothing, and then your only options are pool and other bodies of water or air conditioning.

well... that's how hot it gets here in the summer... that's what it's been all week...
I love the summer, but I also love the winter...
I have no idea what it's like to spend an entire winter with nothing but rain, and I certainly don't want to...
if we have a few days in winter without any snow, we tend to get rather uncomfortable... it's just unnatural...
plus snow is so pretty... I like to watch it bury the city under a white blanket ^_^

Re: I Like Snow.

I'm not as big of a fan of snow as I am rain, but it is alright. I don't get high on it, but it brings about good things and it beats sunny.

Agreed. Though, I wonder if there are some people who get high on snow....

:hmm:
