Greetings, fellow Fable fans.
Rather than leaving with a wave and a smile, I will tell you a little story of how I became interested in Fable III.
I was a happy Fable II player a few years back. Downloaded all the DLC, loved the game, loved to co-op with others and help kill stuff. And stuff. I started to surf through any Fable related forums to look for other co-op buddies, but I noticed this trend of people bashing the game. A lot. People wanted armor, hated the clothes, hated the guns, etc etc. For the most part, I tried to remain positive about Fable II, and did my best to ignore the haters. Haters gonna hate, ya know? Over time, I grew agitiated with the constant complaining, so I gave up my search for co-op buddies and just played alone. Sad face! Yeah, I know.
Anyway, I noticed that during that loading screens when I moved from place to place, I started to fall asleep. It's weird, 'cause I wasn't tired or anything, but I dreaded the wait time from wandering around, so I didn't really wander around much. And when I didn't wander around much, I began to get... bored. So, after a while, I got really bored of the game, and said, "I won't play another Fable game, until they implement seamless worlds with no loading times a la World of Warcraft!" Probably impossible, but oh well.
Fast forward to the present. Sort of. Around two months ago, three games caught my interest: Two Worlds II, Gothic 4, and... yup, you guessed it... Fable III. With my budget, I knew I couldn't get all three, so I started narrowing it down. I immediately removed Fable III from the list. I don't know why; it was like a knee-jerk reaction. So, for a while, it was a tie between Two Worlds II and Gothic 4. Recently, I played the Gothic 4 demo, and I wasn't impressed at all. Plus, I heard it was very linear and not so much open world, so I removed that from the list. To be honest, I was kind of leaning on Two Worlds II this whole time. There is a lot of potential in that game. From watching the videos, to reading about the features. I believe that was the game that I was looking for all this time.
Then, it got delayed.
So, now I find myself in need of game to fix my RPG fix.
Enter Fable III.
I was watching some of the videos, and the one that hit me the most, was the wolf video, where the hero saves the child from the videos. Seeing the happy little kid jump into the arms of his savior warmed my heart, and then guiding the little boy home, holding his hand, was very cute.
That won me over.
So now, like most of you, I am eagerly anticipating the release of Fable III.
Look forward to posting with you all on the forums!
