IM a designer and I have designed something!

Hi guys,
Im a game design student in case you guys didn't know. I have been working on a character for a lil' while now. I am coming close to finishing him, theres still some modelling and mapping and rigging to do. Hes about 57 percent finished. Well without further or due heres SteamPunk;

Well, Im actually no good with rigging, I actually have never rigged. But No I wont be enveloping any thing accept the midsection and some hoses im going to add l8r. Yeah thats a little bit of bump map, speckle actually. I dont know how to uv map like unwrap the materials or I would add some oil leaks and stuff. Im getting a wacom for Christmas so Ill be able to do some more complicated stuff.

Well, I am still in school and hoping to have MY OWN game is kind of a longshot but, really, just cuz. Its practice really.

From bioshock, I think its because of the style, My characters name is steampunk and actually Steampunk is a style of art using industrial parts as inspiration. Big daddy was "steampunk" So I guess these are similar. Also if anyone knows how to uv map I need some advice. Basically I cant figure out how to paint the unwraps and I cant figure any of it out really.
