For all those horrible things I said about you? I'm sorry. Your football team still sucks, but my thoughts are with you.

There was an explosion (presumably an accident in this case) at a fertilizer plant in a town called West, Texas. Near Dallas. Last night.

According to the radio this morning, 15 people are dead.

(Please don't bitch that I'm hypocritical for caring about Texans. Thumper's Law, please.)

Cowsh*t can blow up?

What has science done!?

So close to the bombing too, feel sorry for all the families involved.

Fertilizer goes boom quite well. Ammonium Nitrate is both a fertilizer and a component of improvised bombs, though I don't know if that's what went boom here. The bomb used in the Oklahoma City bombing was an ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate-Fuel Oil) bomb in a truck. The IRA loved ANFO, if I remember right. Other people use it too.

Though, again, pretty sure this is an accident.

This has just been a kinda depressing-News week. overall.

Anders Behring Breivik used it too.

And yeah, looks like an industrial accident to me. Especially from the footage. You can see it burning for a while and then suddenly explode. Most likely a fire that got into the bad stuff.

My understanding is that the facility was likely not being properly maintained. If that is the case then someone will be going to prison. Otherwise, accidents do happen, and Texas is no stranger to the explosive variety. Walker, your feelings are well met and received, and I will tell all the other Texans to take your name off the kill list.

Only until the next 'Skins-Dallas game, right?
