Industrial Music Conversation That Was Discussed In Devalions COM-SPOT

Basically I was sending the Community Spot light off topic, and felt it better to create a thread instead of continuing the path of darkness i had set iton.

The Question i posed was whether or not Static-X where Industrial. The answer seems to be a resounding NO, from Drunkles, and Hexi. So as i said Gary Numan is apparently New Wave, But i am now beging to wonder if this is nearer the Industrial. It seems in accordance to the Description. What are your views on the whole subject in general????

New wave is not industrial... it's a form or progressive 80's rock that took on heavy synth and drum machine elements...
industrial is like a fusion of metal, punk, and electronic music... it tends to have heavier or distorted vocal stylings, lots of heavy guitar and quick beats... there are of course, variations, but industrial is stuff like FLA and Skinny Puppy.. New Wave is stuff like Depeche Mode... the two aren't related at all really...

Wow, This convo still going, Not that i am complaining. I have been a way a while and while i'd love to listen to the you tubes you posted i am currently limited for time, so will return later and have a listen. I have only herd a little of Chem Bros, but i didn't like it at all sorry for that, just not my style. Most of what i have is Old Progrock, Newer Syphonic Rock (Ie Rush, Lacuna coil) Or Nu-metal & gunge (Static-/ Disturbed and Tool). anyway got to go.

To be honest, I can't really stand the chemical brothers either... I like Industrial... I'm not a fan at all of Techno... just doesn't speak to me the same way...

Don't worry A.K. I am a techno fan! Chemical brothers are pretty cool, and they put out good, high quality techno (5+ beats at a time)

You should also give Astral Projection a try. They are goa/trance techno, which I find to be absolutely cool.

Ok I listened to the Musid and liked it, so thanx for that, the only one i wasnt keen on was Astral Projection. sorry bout that if i still had mi Limewire i'd download some FLA, i liked the Epitaph.
