[INTERVIEW] Eurogamer (Czech) talk to PM (Lots of hints dropped)
The interviewer was a bit strange, and requesting what he wanted, meh. Peter just created more questions. What does he mean you can have 2 dogs? or the co-op games?
This is Peter in his prime, saying something and then regretting it.
Eurogamer (Translated) said:Eurogamer: Could you summarize for our readers about Fable III, which are introduced during the last period?
Peter Molyneux : The biggest changes are going in the UI system and fights. We are told that the battle will be closer to games like Soul Calibur and Street Fighter, than the previous works Fable. And also, that the old user interface constitutes an obstacle for many players, making the game not tried all the options. In previous works were all based on word lists. That's what we try to revise, and we have a goal that the game will not only 2D menu. All options must be incorporated directly in the game world. Already after about ten minutes of playing to get into special rooms (Guild Chambers) players offering features and options in other games represented by the menu.
Eurogamer: For example, a wardrobe?
Peter Molyneux: Yes. But it's more than just a wardrobe or dressing room if you want. You will find the complete collection of his clothes. Then you expect the armory, where you can find all your swords, weapons, magical items. As well as tools to modify and upgrade weapons. In the game, and the Treasury to see all recovered and Achievement nasbíraného quantities of gold. In other games the money represented by just one number. In Fable III with his own eyes you can see the growth of gold hill. At the start you own little pile. Once you become king, the Treasury will begin to perform properly. And you can use the new touch-screen system and the individual gold in swimming.
Eurogamer: Let's go back to the closet. At GDC have revealed that John Cleese would dub his valet, who helps players with the choice of clothing. How to happen?
Peter Molyneux: Journalists who had the chance to try Fable III said: "The game has a British style of humor. It's like a bit of Monty Python." And so we said that we get what most monty-python team. It is a big advantage of today's well-known gaming franchises. You can also reach people who would have thought a few years ago, you're crazy if you asked them about dubbing computer games.
Eurogamer: In our last interview you promised that await us, "three major news that will surprise and shock." Have you all three revealed to the public?
Peter Molyneux: The touch system is one of them. Reign and rule over the country is the second novelty. Third just announced. Without getting told something specific, we are going to a bunch of new cooperative games. And of course we are engaged in Natal. More details will be published probably at E3.
Eurogamer: remember that we asked whether one of the innovations include a cat or a parrot?
Peter Molyneux: Yes. We added a cat to play even a parrot.
Eurogamer: I now have a new theory. The third novelty is that a player receives two dogs?
Peter Molyneux: I can reveal that in Fable III definitely see the two dogs at once.
Eurogamer: So the player's darling can have puppies?
Peter Molyneux: I did not say puppies. I've told more than I had when I mentioned two dogs. They are sniffing, as dogs that do that. Particularly interesting is who the other dog belongs.
Eurogamer: You showed a new strategic vision in the game, which is clearly to see the whole map. It strongly recalls the real-time strategy.
Peter Molyneux: It recalls. But do not expect that you will control the army, to produce tanks, so you will not suddenly play realtimovku. Still it is an action adventure game. But in addition we rule the whole of Albion and so you need to have an overview of the whole kingdom. For example you can set taxes etc.
Eurogamer: How do you adjust the combat system?
Peter Molyneux: We want to approach games like Soul Calibur and Street Fighter. So we wonder why they are so great Fighting game? And if i can play in our fight to have the same strength and fluidity?
It's one of the things from Fable III makes more action adventure than RPG. Because RPGs are mostly about statistics and how they are fighting with the sword +5. Not on fluency and tactics in battle, and that the player had a relationship with his own hand forged weapons.
Eurogamer: How to fit Natal Fable III?
Peter Molyneux: About this I will be able to disclose more details later. We do not want to use Natal at any cost to the obvious features such as control menus. Rather, we implement it only in situations where it really fits and you can use laughter and surprise. To play will still only need the classic controller. Natal without a compass on the other hand completely. But with him, you'll enjoy more widespread version of the game.
Eurogamer: Do you think Natal better than competing Move?
Peter Molyneux: Well ultimately it will depend on how we Popery with the developers. The only thing Natal and Move offers the hardware. But if him doing something really interesting, or work as much simpler it is to us and decide that the success of both devices.
All these innovations give us a really hard time. Because many things which we have worked so far, we throw away. We no longer have the key. But instead of gestures, hands, legs, faces. It is difficult to adjust. Personally, I think that the first generation of games will not be physically controlled by a stone, as players expect. Almost all second-generation brings up very interesting possibilities. And also in Natal and Move, I expect that when the second wave of titles can be very interesting.
