This is quite the departure from the weapons system seen in the past games, and should mean that when playing co-op that their will be enough variety in the weapons each character has.

I was implying that a collector has 88,000 weapons to find. Which is nigh impossible to do.

That's a pretty bold claim! I do hope that a decent percentage of weapons are actually unique weapons and not just a thousand or so variations of the same weapon but with slightly different statistics.

Still, if Timmins' claim is indeed true then I'll be most impressed.

I think he means like "This is the type". "This is the width". "This is length". "This is the effects". "This is the markings/designs". "This is... etc".

Then if you take every weapon which is designable, it'd tally up to 88,000.


A Sword 4 ft. long, kills undead faster, blue aura, blue runes.
A Sword, 4 ft. long, kills undead faster, blue aura, red runes.
A Sword, 4 ft. long, kills undead faster, red aura, blue runes.
A Sword, 4 ft. long, kills undead faster, red aura, red runes.
A Sword 4 ft. long, kills monks faster, blue aura, blue runes.
A Sword, 4 ft. long, kills monks faster, blue aura, red runes.

See, right there I designed 6 types of swords, each similar, only with different things on each. Now we could go as so far to change the rune colors, which could be up to 26, 100, 100,000... we can change the length, many different lengths, we can change the effects such as undead, banshee, monks, villagers, guards, balverines, the aura, the type of weapon...

See all this stuff! And I am sure we could go on as to add daggers on them, double barrels on guns, etc etc! Take all this into account and find the possibilities!

i hate to be the pessimist, but after borderlands i'm gearing more towards your worst case scenario. :(

Funny, i am thinking it will be very similar to borderlands..

Yet Peter was saying that he wanted to improve all the problems in Fable 2, and one of them was that all the non-legendary weapons looked the same.

What's that pixie dust that flies around hero?
I've heard something about that from F2, but since I haven't played it (because *******s didn't release it for PC... *****es) I actually have no idea what it is...
Can someone please give me a short explanation?

i think what you're referring to is good aura. when your hero makes good decisions it's just one of the effects that the game uses to make your hero look like a good guy.
i'm not entirely sure that's what you were referring to though. if you could post a picture or link showing what you mean i would be able to clarify.

It's exactly what the image file name says it is, a bread crumb trail. In case you ever get lost just follow the trail to find your way back, and it is also used as a guide to lead you through your current quest.

Hmmm... I hope I can deactivate it because it will take all the adventure aspect from the game...
For example... one of the things I loved the most about the Morrowind was that while on a quest you were given directions and you had to find your way to the location of the quest by looking at landmarks and stuff... simply awesome...
In Oblivion they added marker on compass to show you the way... it kinda ruined the adventure thing for me, but OK...
But this... this really kills adventure aspect of the game in case if it can't be turned off...
I mean... all we need now is a guy who will lead you by the hand to the location of the quest... even though that would really fit the touch system thing :p

You can adjust it's transparency along with disabling it, I'd imagine Lionhead would still allow that option if it's in Fable 3. So no worries.

The 88000 combinations thing is mostly likely going to be like the concept tjbyrum1 explained. Although this may be true, I'm pretty sure that it won't make the game less fun. We will still have fun molding our own weapons. Unless we are all Jackasses who do the same things and get the same weapons(or similar ones in this case) In fable 2 I noticed that a majority favored skill and most of these people got Red Dragons and Daichis. Thing is we could always experiment with weapon morph system and create fast strong weapons. Thats what the majority seems to want. So in the end those 88000 combinations have gone to waste because most of us are Faggy skill users. Don't get me wrong, I'm a skill user myself, but I don't use the red dragon and I've never even bothered to acquire a Daichi. My current character is using a wretchers blade and a master repeater crossbow with four augment slots.
