Is it me?

Or does Fable seem way to Linear. I guess I'm used to MMPORG's and other RPG's where just about everything was free game. I mean, I don't like that I can't go swimming, and that there are so many bounderies.

Yeah Fable is abit more restricted than most RPGS these days and wasnt quite as open ended as people said it was going to be but i imagine that will be rectified in Fable 2 and with Oblivion stretching the boundries of RPG's in general thats the benchmark game to beat as it is so free roaming and every quest is so open ended thats the main competition.

True, I would've enjoyed going swimming. It would have been nice to see a completely different ending for good/bad

Peter Mollyneux (correct?) promised us so much yet we got so little. It was a great game but it need to be more open-ended. Think about it, they spent years trying to make this game good but because of them wanting to make it so you can get scars and all the morality choices you can choose, they ended up cutting the free-roaming out so you can be good or evil. Let us hope that it changes in Fable 2.

Then again (with Oblivion setting the bar high as far as free-roaming in next-gen gaming) how is Fable 2 going to be able to compete? Is it going to be Fable 1 with free-roam and new storyline or a completely new Fable experiance?
