Issues with connection

Ever since my brief unexplained banning I have been incapable of connecting fully from my home. From wi-fi I get perfect access, from home I get "server busy" notices every link I click. If some damage has been done I'd enjoy it being undone as was my week or two long exile.

Re: Issues with connection

Tried simply clearing your Internet Cache and cookies? No damage can be done to a profile by such means and no after effects would be suffered.

Re: Issues with connection

If it were my cache or cookies then the issue would come along with me wherever I go. Also the connection at home seems to do fine with every other site. I've defragged and compressed/disk cleanup'd. I've run a spywear check and I'm clean.

Well whatever the problem is it wouldnt be related to a banning as that has no adverse effects on anything when reversed. So issue must be coming from some other means.

Re: Issues with connection

I'm just going off the fact that it wasn't a problem until the banning. That's when it started.

Purely co-incidental i would have thought because ive never seen a banning have any after effects after being reversed. Scott was banned for 24 hours a while ago and has never had any issues after the ban period was over. I have the odd server reset error now and again and it seems to effect every Vbulletin site i go to on both my PC's at the same time weirdly. Still havent found the cause of that issue as of yet, so there are the odd errors here and there that i dont understand yet. I will go over your profile setup with a fine tooth comb when i get home and see if theres anything that could be causing it in there but im pretty confident theres nothing that could be causing errors like that in there.

Re: Issues with connection

Would you mind posting a screenshot of the error message next time you come across it? "Server Busy" notices normally means, to my knowledge, that the server is overloaded. I haven''t received it myself but then again I haven't been online that much the past few days.

If you see the error again then the best advice I can offer is to wait it out for about an hour or so and (hopefully) things will return to normal.

Re: Issues with connection

id try on my pc, but the 56k modem is just TOO slow. i get perfect wifi access on my laptop too

Re: Issues with connection

this sounds like a job for mason's tech support... perhaps maybe... did you try pinging the website perhaps it just your isp having a conflicting issue with this sites ISP

or even trace route just an idea see if it's having issues along the way...

and clear you cookies and Cache no matter what for some reason that always helps.

Re: Issues with connection

Try restarting your internet modem/router. Some of these save some NAT-info on a little flash-drive to speed up booting. By shutting the modem/router off you clear this memory. So just pull the plug and see if it fix your problems!

+rep to everyone who has replied with useful advice. 'Fraid routers and all those kinds of gadgets aren't really my speciality; I brought a D-Link router a few months back and it took me ages to get it to recognize my internet connection and get it working... ^_^

Like me, i had issues with mine and its same as yours. I set it up perfect and it didnt work, then randomly for no reason at all it started working one day.

Re: Issues with connection

Try these

Reboot you computer without saving any important documents
Move your Desk
Get a new Monitor
Upgrade your mouse pad
Change the Oil in your friends car at midnight of a new moon

Did it Work?
