Issues with my HDTV Cable

Yeah, how the heck does this thing work.

I can't figure it out...I put in all the wires in the correct colors matching, put it on the right input...and nothing.

No sound no picture.

AND it is a brand new HDTV Video Cable.

And yes it is an HDTV lol.

If it's a HDMI cable, then make sure that you've actually got the right set of cables connected to your TV, then make sure it IS on the right setting, right colours and is plugged in correctly.

And if it still isn't working, then I really don't know, one of my friends had this same issue, called me over to fix it and it turned out that it was just on the wrong bloody setting, needless to say I gave him a smack upside the head for it, just make sure that everything is all connected correctly.

Actually, I think I'm having a completely different problem that leads me to fear the worst...I'm getting no picture but I can still hear audio when I start up..

**** this better not be the Rrod.
Because I swear to god if it is **** microsoft and their ****ty console.
If it isn't, lucky me.
My warranty ****ing ran out too.

did you make sure you switch the little switch on the component video cable from tv to hdtv?

Yep, did everything right. Been spending hours roaming the internet trying to find me a quick fix, but nothing seems to be working. Everything I've read so far pertaining to "No picture but audio is still there..." is leading me to the unthinkable. I just can't get Rrod, I can't pay for that ****. I'll be console-less right after I bought Fable 2...it just can't happen...

you sure you have the video plugged in right, cuz sometimes you can mess up those cables. cuz i think there is 2 red cables, one for video and 1 for the audio.

edit: also make sure you dont have the yellow one plugged in.

hmm, try plugging in the a/v cables. to see if you get anything video.

I started off trying to a/v cables, thats when i noticed something was wrong.

Went to the store to buy an HD only cable thinking that it would work. Spent 30 bucks on it. I'll be returning it tomorrow. I will also call Microsoft's support line have a nice long talk with a poorly customer support fellow.

Sounds like you have the video wire in the wrong slot, stop being so paranoid about the RROD as no picture and sound doesnt happen with that. :lol:

Mine has no picture but it had audio when i added my HD cable and it was just id put it in wrong slot. (my TV has about 4)

You need to plug in the non-HD cables too, I think.

Had a similar problem here, problem was the HDMI cable wasn't the 1.3x standard, as soon as we got the right HDMI cable it worked perfect.
