It won't start

I'm trying to load Fable: TLC

My system is this:

Laptop

Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002
Service Pack 2
1.6 GHz processor (Intel Pentium M processor)
1.00 GB RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon X300
Memory Size: 128 MB
SigmaTel C-Major Audio sound card

I've reinstalled the game twice, I've tried running in Compatibility Mode for Windows 2000. Nothing has worked.

When I start the game, I "sometimes" get the Fable opening screen, the cd spins, and it stops loading, returning to the desktop. I've tried running the game through the CD, the shortcut, and the folder .exe file. Still the same thing happens.

I've turned off my firewalls, I've turned off my virus scanners, I've even disconnected from the internet. Still nothing.

I've also ran a system check to see if I have the minimum requirements for the game, and it says that I more than meet them. (as far as the pixel and vextel shaders)

Any ideas?

try changing it to run on windows 95 or watever, i had that same problem and it worked

Got it to work, I had to turn off my "PowerPlay" feature from my video card.

But now it is saying that I'm running at 850Mhz, I'm assuming my laptop is messing with me. Any ideas on how to speed it up?

Processors never run at their documented clock speed, though that does seem to be running slightly slower than it should be. Not to sure about the clock speeds of Intels M Processor range though so i couldnt say for sure.

hmmm im not sure then. i never realy had any problems with Fable like that. i barely play anymore...

It miss read my clock speed as well roughly cutting it in Half which is what is sounds like it did with yours

its probably some kind of virus or trojan or something. my processors fine, i just cant play anymore, since it continues to stop working. was there a point when it did work? or did you just buy it and its acting up?

I bought it and couldn't get it to run for three days, then I finally got it working last night.
