Ninja Gaiden II

Leaked screenshots are one thing, but to truly experience the power of a ninja you need to see him in action. Fortunately, GameVideos has footage from Tomonobu Itagaki's live demo of Ninja Gaiden II at Microsoft's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference.

Itagaki says the "world's best action game" is "pretty far in development," as evidenced by the eight stages available on the demo's stage select screen (including one that intriguingly shows the Statue of Liberty). Only one level gets played in the live demo, though -- a Venice-style aqua city. Our favorite ninja is shown using a scythe-like sword, a pair of longswords and a set Wolverine-style claws against ninjas, military types and some green-blooded dragons. The action will be familiar to anyone who has played a modern Ninja Gaiden game, with plenty of bloody severed enemies and dramatic zooms for particularly vicious kills.

Tecmo and Team Ninja shut down and sued everyone involved with Ninja Hacker who did nothing more than make new skins for the Dead or Alive characters. They'll never get another penny from me.

If i remember correctly, those 'new skins' were nude skins (unless you're talking about somewhere else). And the whole hacking and whatnot, apparently violated Team Ninja's 'terms of use' for the game, or so they say. So yeah, they pretty much have the right to sue anyone who does something like that to their game...I mean, it's not like Dead Or Alive is a PC game or anything, where custom content is highly common & popular. :lol:

Unforgivable! In Dead or Alive Volleyball there are nude skins... official skins that came with the game so.....

Yeah, i read about those nude skins..But it was also noted that they were censored with purple stars, across the nudie bits. The whole looking through the transparent Visor, to tease the fans. But if you mean, REAL nude skins, then i don't doubt it..as it was originally intended by Team Ninja. But they decided to not fully go through with it, as i'm sure you remember the enormous upset in the industry with DOA Xtreme Volleyball & BMX XXX including strong nudity in both games. So to get the heat off of them, they took the nudity out, but surely they left the skin files in there, for whatever reason.

Much like Rockstar, and the "Hot Coffee" mod for San Andreas.

Exactly. It was a BS excuse. The exact phrasing was "that it tarnished the reputation of their characters".

I do remember correctly. Because I was a part of that forum. It was more than just Tecmo games. Tecmo tried to state that the encryption alog they used to encrypt the textures was source code and that the guys there were reverse engineering their source code. Again, BS.

The main issue was Team Ninja's EGO. Many of the skins on the site were higher quality than was in the game.

Bungie and Lionhead 'unofficially' encouraged modding of their games. The original Halo wouldn't have had the longevity it had without custom maps. And Simon Carter himself gave me the ok to mod fable, and offered some information about the file formats.

The harm isn't just to the wholesome values of Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, hinted Tecmo spokesperson Melody Pfeiffer. There's a principle at stake. "Hackers, if they're allowed to do this kind of thing, will be allowed to hack into any game, anywhere," Pfeiffer warns. "We spent millions of dollars to develop these games, and people are coming in and changing the code to their liking, and that's illegal."

Had I been in charge. She'd have been immediately fired.

:lol: He actually said that?? He sounds abit too embarrassed to admit that the game's real selling point is it's large amount of eye-candy. I know there's alot of gamers out there that play DOAX, and claim the only reason they play it is for a good Volleyball game, but we all know why they really bought it. :shifty:

Same thing for Rumble Roses, "the game is a great strategical grappler"... :noexpression: The game sucks when it comes to gameplay, it's only selling point is it's large eye-candy.

Course, despite Itagaki's whole Japanese Rockstar appearance, it's no doubt that the guy finds pleasure in whacking off to the girls of DOA, though he's pretty bad when it comes to lying about his pride... :ninja: I will say this, he makes some badass fighting games, no question about it.

Yeah, i can see where she's trying to go with that, though her explanation for it was poor. And i'm pretty sure that Team Ninja/Tecmo failed to mention a "Tampering with the game files, is strictly prohibited" in the 'terms of agreement' or 'terms of use', in the game.

There's only Xtreme Beach Volleyball, and Xtreme 2. They got rid of the Volleyball name for the sequel, due to Volleyball no longer being the main mini-game of the game.

Yeah. This really isn't, and I don't think any game in the series, has really been a true ninja game, with sneaking around assassinating people.

Tenchu series does that pretty good, but it gets repetitive. I guess we'll have to have faith in Assassin's Creed to fill that... desire.

Yeah Assassins Creed is bringing a lot of historical content and historical accuracy to the table and should fill the void for that.

Well apparently but its not as unforgiving as that, as ive seen Altair take 4-5 hits in videos but none were blows to the heavy or really hard. I think its just a head hit or a slow heavy blow that does it in one.

Yeah, but who doesn`t love hack`n`slash with lots of enemies, gore, moves and great effects.
Maybe Thief is a good sneaking game, but I haven`t played it myself.
