Items in Fable 2

I've just come upon the possibility of something that could alter the entire Fable 2 experience: totally interactive items! Imagine what all could come into play when you can use that beer mug from the pub to smash over your opponent's head or use all manner of tools and devices for your own gain. Can you just picture a Fable world where you can scale a city wall with a grappling hook and a rope or use anything as a weapon? If Fable 2 included this, it would be awesome beyond words- a world where almost anything is possible in terms of the items you can use. Sure, I very well know that this would be ambitious and a next-to-impossible task, but if they could pull it off even half-way with more interaction, it would be cool. Give me some input about this topic.

Yeah I'ed really Like that too, Inmagin the replay vaule with tons of difrent ways to kill people and steal stuff :)

yeah but they cant make it too complicated because then it wouldnt be as much fun if you couldnt target the right item to use. It could be like Dead Rising. That would be pretty cool

True, not that complicated, but still to the point that if you see something, you can use it in some way. It would be hilarious to start a bar fight and smash a beer bottle over some drunken villager's head before vaulting out the window like a psychopath.

But would the dude even have I chance? I mean we are like 3x the size of a normal villager/ bandit.....:ninja:O.o

In Fable 2, you shouldn't be the only huge dude in the game. In Fable I, you looked like you could squash all the villagers with one step of your platemail boots. There should be some tough guys to get in a brawl with. Some people who don't cower like a deer in headlights when you raid their house. In TES: Oblivion, I was surprised when I robbed this shop dry before turning around and getting slashed by a shopkeeper's longsword. If you really think about it, you're not going to just call the guards and hide when some psycho is in your house beating your wife to death.

I also think it'd be cool that once you got to a certain fame level, villains and evil doers begin to hear of your actions and hunt you down. I could see a showdown in a tavern between you (good guy) and mr. Skormm's son over there wielding his primitive shotgun or whatever.

Interesting, at least it would make you feel like a small part of a bigger world that way and like your actions are really having an effect on the world around you.

In a presentation Sir Peter Molyneux was showing of some of the combat systems that will probably go into Fable 2, and he was talking about fully interactive items like picking up chair and smashing them of people etc.

p.s. i say probably because Peter is not one to trust on things he says will make it into his games.

I thought it was confirmed that it was just a video and had nothing (or so he says ) to do with fable 2.

Yeah it was announced that it had nothing to do with Fable, so they say i was just posting the video :ninja:

While it could all be crap or rumors, imagine what it would be like playing in a living breathing world and being part of the game, the experience that is Fable 2?

Well said +rep i think. I think there should be a fair share of hieghts wieghts and sizes etc added in. I felt like i was going to crush my wife everytime i entered my house.

I think the idea of selecting every item is good. It would mean a lot of replay value, and so many more stealing, present giving, fighting and other things are expanded. I like the Idea you can play "Honey were my dress" idea lol. as in go in your house and move all your wifes clothing lol, actually theres another idea....

People in game getting changed occassionally, so it at least looks like they attempt Personal hygene.
