I want to congratulate my son, student, and important part of my plan with his 6th (alright 14th) birthday.

Ah, 14 years old. It's nice not to be 13 anymore, eh? God, that was a terrible age, only in retrospect though. But you're past it now, so let us rejoice! :D Happy birthday, Hobbe.

I have one question though. Does having your birthday so close to christmas ever reduce the amount of gifts you get? I've known people who have had birthdays right around christmas, and people end up giving them presents and practically saying, "Here, this single gift is for your birthday and christmas."

I certainly hope not, who would be so mean to do that? I mean, you have more money in the time ofthe year there is no christmas or birthday. Also, if you would do the present-giving normally, for someone who has their birthday in the summer, it would be totally unfair treatment. >=(
Those kind of people **** me off, for finding an excuse to spend less money...

No, I'm not turning this into a big discussion, where everybody flames each other... :P

My dad's birthday is New Years Eve, and even then I usually only get him one gift.

Actually, in all my life I can only remember being swindled like that once. All the other Christmas/Birthday presents came seperately, although if one was expensive the corresponding present would be, understandably, a bit cheap.
 
^I've never had a present for both christmas and my birthday. Unless its money because then its just combined.
My Birthday was on the 24th, just in case you were doubting the relevance of this post.
