J-rock-ness

Okay..... I didn't see anything like this up so I thought I would volunteer! ^_^

Who else out there is J-rock fan? Which ones do you like and whats your fav song? Have you ever met or seen any of them?

I like these bands:
L'Arc~en~Ciel
GazettE
HYDE (from L'Arcu)
Dir en Gray
Miyavi
Gackt
Mucc

I've seen Dir en Gray in concert and came very close to actually meeting them..... but I was short three dollars and no one would spot me cause they were all godless barbarians...... :P

Just wondering about yous guys.

Re: J-rock-ness

I like J-pop and J-rock, but I don't have any names for them.
I like the gravitation songs. :P

Re: J-rock-ness

sorry so off topic...

Why haven't you answered my PM markie?

Re: J-rock-ness

??????????????

Off topic.... that's okay.............

Re: J-rock-ness

Whats J rock??

Re: J-rock-ness

Never heard of it and too lazy to Google it - please may someone enlighten me too?

Re: J-rock-ness

J=Japanese.

Re: J-rock-ness

Ahhh....ok.

Re: J-rock-ness

J-rock is rock........ by Japanese people......... It's very addicting, and amusing.

YouTube - Gazette - Taion

Here is one that is good. GazettE: Taion. They are one of the best I think. If you like metal and Punk (like the Sex Pistols....) you will probably like them. And just so you know.... about half of the song is in engrish... you just can't really tell. ^_^;

Re: J-rock-ness

Hmm...personally I think it's the most awful noise I have ever heard but then I am particularly fussy about what I listen too. No doubt it is adored by everyone else though...

Re: J-rock-ness

I personally have a soft spot for the extremely sugary cute sort of songs that often appear before and after animes....

But other than that...Nah, I prefer other sorts of music.

Re: J-rock-ness

That would offend alot of Japanese people Angel...

Re: J-rock-ness

Yeah well if they can't respect Sharon's opinion..well, up their's. Quite frankly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if that makes some fanboi's pants get wet it aint her problem...

Re: J-rock-ness

I don't give a monkey's who it offends - I despise all kinds of music that many of you guys on these forums adore such as Disturbed, Staind, Marilyn Manson etc...it comes down to personal preference. The stuff I listen to would make many run screaming for the hills, but I'm not gonna slit my wrists because someone doesn't agree with my tastes.

Re: J-rock-ness

Well..... I don't really care if you don't like it.... don't listen to it then, and it's your loss. But seriously, if you don't like it, then why did you reply? You could have just ignored this thread, or simply said "no."

There are plenty of other types of J-rock too. Like Tsuyu said, there's the happy music, there's the dark stuff like GazettE or Dir en Gray, there's in between like L'Arc en Ciel......... here are some others that are different:

YouTube - L'Arc~en~Ceil-Jiyuu e no Shoutai
YouTube - L'Arc~en~Ciel-Ready Steady Go
YouTube - Miyavi - Freedom Fighters

Re: J-rock-ness

Hey, I was just saying I didn't think much of the Gazette one - and I commented because I had listened to the link you posted, didn't like it so much and said so. No big deal and end of issue.

Besides, I'm not in the habit of ignoring threads as that would make me pretty pointless as a member of staff.

I wasn't aiming my comments at you personally anyway - just more replying to the earlier point of Japanese people being offended by my not liking that music - and I think it's perfectly acceptable for me to discuss my opinion as much as anyone else's.

But like I say, it's nothing personal :)

Any band that goes so low as to sell themselves out to Cartoon Network* is dead in my eyes.

*Or whatever network that produces the cartoon.

Re: J-rock-ness

Indeed cartoon network! :D lol
