Jack of Blades. a Study

Hi, I am a new member.^_^

As everyone knows, Jack of Blades is a character from fable, the Hero's nemesis, but he is also a strange character and is not understood by many.
Therefore, I will give my thoughts on Jack of Blades... Then I would like hear your comments and thoughts on the matter...

Jack of Blades

As stated by The Oracle, Jack isn't capable of having a childhood, since The Oracle stated that Jack was much older than the gods themselves. Again the Oracle said, "Jack is not even a man". The Oracle also stated that the being that the Hero defeated in the chamber of fate, was just "the latest vessel" which Jack of Blades had created.

Jack of Blades is often spoken of as if he were a person. However, I believe he is a entity and cannot be compared to a person because of that.
So, what is he then?

I believe the being called Jack of Blades, took the form of a man very recently.
It is most likely, that he had several other physical forms in the age of the
old kingdom. In the age before man, I cannot say what forms he might
have taken but I believe it was many. I believe Jack takes the form of a being of which he will be able to "get things done", if you will. For instance,
after the age of the gods, when man came to be, he had to choose
another physical form, that would make him dominate the world. As man
was the primary dominating species, he took a form of a man, and created
the mask to possess any humans that could make him stronger. Not only
did the mask, make him stronger, it provided him with an easy way of changing his physical form.

I believe Jack has his presence in more than Albion. He is probably in other
worlds too, too strange for our imaginations to grasp, since we only know
a world trapped by time and space.... Jack is therefore in other worlds too,
and he is just "connected" to Albion and able to act in a world trapped
by space and time, much like our world. His mask is just a way of fortifying
his presence and connection to Albion. However, when the hero destroyed
his physical body in the chamber of fate, he struggled to create another
physical form, in a short period of time. He had not thought that any human
would ever be able to destroy his body, so it took time to reform another
physical form. Jack decided to create a form that would defeat the hero, and make him destroy Albion once and for all. A Dragon body. He knew how, but he was not strong enough, and required a piece of 3 souls to speed up
the process, hence he chose Archon's Shrine to lure the Hero and make him bring him the souls. To his astonishment, the Hero slew the dragon,
who was Jack of Blades in physical form. The Hero then captured Jack's
"spirit" in his mask and threw it into the lava. This did not "destroy" Jack of Blades, his connection with the world Albion, was merely cut off or destroyed.

This is why in the final movie, after you throw the mask
into the lava, the narrator says "The strange creature Jack of Blades was finally BANISHED from this world"

Thank you.

that was great! i think you pretty much nailed it down. Has anyone ever read any H.P. lovecraft or his associate writers? there are scattered mentions of a land called Albion among other strange worlds but there is one entity of evil and tickery that plaques them all, a creature of many forms his most common a faceless man... it just screamed jack of Blades when i read it.
