Jack Of Blades?

While on one of my many adventures in Fable II, i discovered an odd passage from a book, lying in the remains of the Guild Library named The End is Almost Nigh, it read:
....His more crpytic visions, such as the one about two brothers who shall release howling death upon a town of blood....His most famous warning is the one that predicts the end of the world. According to Dandelion, it will not come suddenly, but "the ground shall shake, and the past shall erupt into the present in a most bloody manner. Though perhaps a strange being shall transform into a dragon and lay waste to all that lives long time before that happens."

I skipped bits that were jokes or just not needed, and from this, the first bit is clearly the two idiots who read from the book making hallowed men spawn in Fable 2, and the second bit... Jack of Blades, in his dragon form? Past coming to present, return of the old hero from Fable and Fable TLC?

Note that the letter we recieve from Rose if we take the save our family wish also describes a man similar to Jack of Blades... How interesting!

Will these be in Fable 3? :O

I shall continue my adventures here in the old guild, and see if i can find anything else.

Read more carefully. It was obviously written before the time of Fable and TLC. It's saying that the world will end in the manner described but maybe Jack will end it before then. It is NOT saying that Jack will return in Dragon form again.

Note: The letter from Rose is generally thought to describe Scythe/Archon/William Black and not Jack of Blades.

Also Lionhead tends to move forward and not back so I doubt the Hero or Jack will appear in Fable III... Sorry. :P

Re: Jack Of Blades?

I agree with Mikhail but nice findings, I actuually never read any of the books or passages so I think I might have to go back and look through all of them n_n

Re: Jack Of Blades?

Did you not see? the two idiots who summon undead are in Fable 2. so how can it be written before Fable / Fable TLC? if the guy wrote it in order, they summon undead, we pwn the undead, then jack rises

Re: Jack Of Blades?

it's a book of *prophecies*. These kinds of predictions are historically not made in any kind of chronological order.
In the Fable universe(s), it was written before the events in Fable. Yes, the script was written by Lionhead likely during Fable 2 production, but in the game it is meant to predate Fable.

Re: Jack Of Blades?

I'm the only one seeing the obvious connection between this "Book of Prophecies" and Lovecraft's Necronomicon?

As for the two men unwittingly summoning the undead that is also very Lovecraftian where many his stories involves persons starting to dabble into the occult and accidentally unleashing horrors unspeakable and often ending up dead or at an asylum.

Re: Jack Of Blades?

yes, the "Normanomicon (Book of the Extremely Dead)" is a blatant reference to the Necronomicon. And actually the first quest with Sam & Max is more a reference to the movie Army of Darkness, which borrows a bit from Lovecraft.

Re: Jack Of Blades?

Just realised the two brothers also release undead in wraithmarsh, which supports the town of blood being oakvale :)

They released a banshee in bloodstone.. the town of blood being... bloodstone

Re: Jack Of Blades?

ah yes, that DOES make more sense, sorry, i was playing on my second hero and reached that quest, never bothered to do it though :P it still makes sense, even with the town of blood being bloodstone, doesn't change the fact it talks about Jack

Re: Jack Of Blades?

Or Scythe, We had a heavy debate about that a few weeks ago.

EDIT: I have my own theory on that btw, what if it's the Hero of Oakvale wearing jacks mask?

Re: Jack Of Blades?

Well acourding the book in Fable 2, the hero was evil since it states that he slayed jack with sword of aeons when he was in the dragon form. Meaning you were suppose to kill theresa to keep the sword to slay jack. Theresa is still here... So the idea of the hero wearing jacks mask is quite possible since he was evil to start out with. Acourding to the book..

Re: Jack Of Blades?

there have been many theories. in fable tlc if u talk to the oracle about theresa ( this is if you chose the sword of aeons) that she walks out of the guild after you. Meaning that one blow didnt kill her, but still took blood from her. Jack i think is dead for good, but they could put an aster egg in of him ( my previous post) maybe the cult is trying to rssurect him again and they took the normanomicon. If they makea a quest for this hopefully the reward is his armour

the explosion is the first wish from the spire

Your only half right there. The first wish of the spire was for Albion to start anew, to have a second chance. Because the people of the old kingdom were becoming too corrupt. So the Archon ( not william black but one of is sons or great great great w/e) wished for The old kingdom to be cleansed and washed away. Thus the explosion

Re: Jack Of Blades?

^ nope, never noticed that, but ill a looksie next time i play. i hope jack is at least referenced in fable 3. im surprised that he wasnt in fable 2 as much. he was a badass.
